[Touch-packages] [Bug 1683167] [NEW] kmod: Do not blacklist pcspkr on Ubuntu Server

2017-04-16 Thread Ryan Cunningham
Public bug reported:

I have noticed that the package 'kmod' has denied the
'pcspkr' module. I have examined the comments from the
file '/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf', wherein this denial
was made, and apparently it was made solely for reasons
related to Ubuntu Desktop. The comments say that the sound
generated by the module should be replaced by a "nice
pulseaudio [1] bing".
I suggest that you fix this by splitting the server
configuration into a separate package, wherein the denial
of 'pcspkr' should be removed, and retaining the original
package only on Ubuntu Desktop.
(I prefer the terms 'approved list' and 'denied list'
over 'whitelist' and 'blacklist', because the latter terms
originated from the racist days of Jim Crow.)
[1 /Sic erat scriptum/. Should be "PulseAudio".]

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1637344] [NEW] package doesn't include individual mount directories

2016-10-27 Thread Ryan Cunningham
Public bug reported:

The 'base-files' package is missing directories such as
'/media/cdrecorder', '/media/floppy', and '/media/zip' that
are required by the Linux Filesystem Hierarchy Standard
(FHS). Also the package should consider having '/media/usb'
and '/media/firewire'.

The expected/actual results in this package are already
obvious. The reporter is running Ubuntu 16.10.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10
Package: base-files 9.6ubuntu5
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-26.28-generic 4.8.0
Uname: Linux 4.8.0-26-generic i686
ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8
Architecture: i386
Date: Thu Oct 27 16:40:50 2016
Dependencies:

EcryptfsInUse: Yes
InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-10-23 (4 days ago)

 LANGUAGE=es_US:es
 TERM=linux-m
