Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 293832] Re: printer prints page at wrong position, page cut

2019-01-15 Thread draco
You should be able to change the default settings with lpoptions command :
https://www.cups.org/doc/man-lpoptions.html?TOPIC=Man+Pages

Take care of the default page format first, and check also the page
dimension, it could be wrong for this format.

Bug description:
  After updating to intrepid, my Brother DCP-7025 printed every page
  about 2 cm above the usual position. This leads to pages cut as if
  printing with wrong paper configuration though A4 paper is set
  everywhere (Cups settings, program settings). For example when
  printing a test page with the printer configuration tool I cannot see
  the upper part of the Ubuntu logo.

  I have used both a hardy and an intrepid live cd to test and found out
  that the problem only occurs using intrepid, so I think it's a problem
  with the intrepid driver packages.

  However I found out, that in the printer configuration tool a wrong
  driver "DCP-7025 BR-Script" is loaded. The correct (and working!)
  driver is "DCP-7025 for CUPS". So to manually solve the problem simply
  choose the correct driver in the tool.

  I think that during the installation process of the package "brother-
  cups-wrapper-laser" the correct driver is not set to be used as
  default driver and the system continues to use the wrong driver
  instead.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1462621] Re: : Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

2016-03-13 Thread draco
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1193243 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193243

Hi,

Same problem today for me.
To solve this, I need to manually backup the file :
  sudo mv /etc/xdg/Trolltech.conf{,.old}
Then fix the update :
  sudo apt-get install -f

After this, the file is not created, so I don't understand why dpkg complains
about the overwrite of the file.
If needed, you could rename the backup to restore the file :
  sudo mv /etc/xdg/Trolltech.conf{.old,}

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1574324] Re: pulseaudio crashes when connecting to bluetooth headphones (due to ubuntu changes?)

2016-09-21 Thread draco
I have the same issue with my Aventree Audition bluetooth headphone.

After multiple trial and errors, it sounds like unloading both
module-bluetooth-policy and module-bluetooth-discover, then reloading them *in
this order*, could fix the problem :
$ pactl unload-module module-bluetooth-policy
$ pactl unload-module module-bluetooth-discover
$ pactl load-module module-bluetooth-policy
$ pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover

However, I have to do that each time I want to (re)connect the
headphone, even if I do not restart pulseaudio, but I was not trying the
PPA fix.

NOTE: Since I was working on the issue before finding this bug report, I also
try some various other fixes. I don't know in with proportion they are all
needed or not.

I have edited /etc/pulse/default.pa like this :

And I have also edited /usr/bin/start-pulseaudio-x11 like this :

Can someone explains the purpose and dependencies between
module-bluetooth-policy versus module-bluetooth-discover ? Should I remove the
previous modification before trying the PPA version ?

Hi Felipe
Have a look to Bug #1577197, I have this problem on switching profile, may
it be the same case.

  ubuntu changes?)

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress
Status in pulseaudio source package in Xenial:
  Fix Committed
Status in pulseaudio source package in Yakkety:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Impact:

  A patch we carry for Ubuntu touch introduced a change that originally
  was required to make sure PulseAudio did not crash. This patch was
  ported to PulseAudio 8 in Xenial, but the patch author's bluetooth
  hardware that was to hand at the time worked so was assumed to be ok.
  However, the opposite is now happening, i.e PulseAudio is crashing
  with a subset of Bluetooth hardware.

  Regression potential:

  Very low to none. As can be read in this report, much debugging and
  testing has been done to find the problem, and the eventual fix.
  Moreover the change is the removal of a patch hunk that removed a line
  of code originally present in PulseAudio.

  Test case:

  NOTE that this test case applies to bluetooth hardware that is
  identified as not working in this bug report.

  1. Install, or upgrade to Xenial or yakkety.
  2. Pair your bluetooth device in the bluetooth settings in the relevant
settings application for your desktop environment.
  3. Once paired, you will notice that sound stops working, as pulseaudio has
thrown an assertion error.
  4. You do not have to remove your audio device from the paired device list,
but it may be easier to do so for the next part of the testing.
  5. Update to the version of PulseAudio in xenial-proposed which is
1:8.0-0ubuntu3.1, or in yakkety-proposed, which is 1:9.0-2ubuntu2.1.
  6. Re-pair your device. Audio should continue to work, and you should be able
to switch to your bluetooth device and use it.

  Original bug report:

  When I attempt to connect my Jaybird Bluebuds X to Ubuntu 16.04
  pulseaudio crashes, this does *NOT* happen with a Jambox which leads
  me to believe it's an intermittent problem with some hardware. This
  did not happen on Ubuntu 15.10 (which was an upgrade of 15.04).
