[Touch-packages] [Bug 1648183] Re: Crackling and popping sound when using headphones
Checking in on Fedora 32 again, still the same issue as every other Ubuntu (and its flavours and spins)/Fedora versions I have tried. The kernel is 'Linux brokenhingelaptop 5.6.8-300.fc32.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Apr 29 19:01:34 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux' according to 'uname -a' on Fedora 32. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1648183 Title: Crackling and popping sound when using headphones Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in alsa-driver package in Arch Linux: New Status in Fedora: New Bug description: Laptop is HP Pavilion - 15-au118tx. The laptop has B and O play and the output from speakers are just fine, when using headphones there is some kind of crackling and popping sound in both ears but prominently in the left ear. The issue happens only when the sound is played, if i reduce the PCM way low using alsamixer, the effect is minimized but the volume is also reduced. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1874051] Re: Crackling headphone output after waking up from sleep
I have fixed all the issues with this device (HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-ba0xx) with the following options: - /etc/modprobe.d/alsa_base.conf Add this: `options snd_hda_intel model=alc295-hp-x360` (this fixes the bass speaker not working and the non-functional mute LED on my HP Pavilion X360, even though the fix was meant for the HP Spectre x360) - Follow this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ASUS_Zenbook_UX430#Headphones_audio_is_too_low (thanks to Erikas on the older bug) I think this should be a quirk in the kernel to be automatically applied for the HP Pavilion x360 with the ALC295 codec. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874051 Title: Crackling headphone output after waking up from sleep Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have performed a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04.4, Ubuntu 19.10, and Ubuntu 20.04, as well as Fedora 31 and all of them have this issue with this audio codec.
