[Touch-packages] [Bug 1717522] [NEW] add-apt-repository --remove & software-properties-gtk do not delete PPA files

2017-09-15 Thread nam1962
Public bug reported:

When removing a ppa with software-properties-gtk or with :

`sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:xxx/yyy
`

it merely empties the file one wants to remove and leaves an empty
theuglyppa.list file in `/etc/apt/sources.list.d/`
This seem quite illogical to keep such residue especially for newbies who won't
know that they should add :

`sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/theuglyppa.list*
`

to their cleaning procedure.

Could the removal actually remove ?

** Affects: software-properties (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Summary changed:

- add-apt-repository --remove & software-properties-gtk delete PPA files
+ add-apt-repository --remove & software-properties-gtk do not delete PPA files

Bug description:
I can't mount my iPad after I upgraded to IOS 8. After plugging in I
get a series of error messages, also my iPad keep asking wether I
  trust my computer.

  I get messages like:
Unable to mount ...'s iPad: Location is already mounted - (it's not)
Unable to mount iPhone: Unhandled lockdown error (-3) (also sometimes -20)

If I remember correctly this happened last year after I upgraded to
  iOS 7.

The problem exists in Utopic too.
