Title:
  On some boots media playback does not succeed

Status in mediaplayer-app package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Build=20130628 flipped
  Hardware=manta

  On some boots, media playback does not succeed. What happens when it is not
successful is that you get a black screen and not video output or sound output
at all, from android's perspective everything is working as you can see this in
logcat:
  Is playing?: yes

  Interestingly enough, when it does work, you can see audioflinger complain
about the power management service:
  c|W/AudioFlinger( 554): Thread AudioOut_2 cannot connect to the power
manager service

  whilst no audioflinger message when it doesn't.

  This happens 1 out of 3 boots it seems so I'm setting the initial
  importance of the bug as High.
