[Touch-packages] [Bug 1337583] Re: various odd errors on all LAN printers
LanceJaverkamp, then you should report a bug to NetworkManager ... ** Package changed: cups (Ubuntu) => network-manager (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337583 Title: various odd errors on all LAN printers Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: I have 2, completely different, network printers on the LAN, OKI & Dell. Both have weird errors on Xubuntu; starting from 13.04, continuing to 13.10, and now 14.04. Both work perfectly from Windows 7. In the past, xubuntu lost the location of both printers every night; I had to reinstall the drivers every single day. Now, the Dell still has that problem, but in addition, the OKI returns "Filter Failed" error constantly. So, I'm now walking a flash-drive to someone else's windows box, every time I need to print. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1337583] Re: various odd errors on all LAN printers
Most of these problems were fixed by replacing NetworkManager with WICD. NetworkManager was actually losing the connection with the printers, even though I could surf the net all day long. Note to self: Never, never, never leave the default NetworkManager installed. I am still seeing "Filter Failed" with most PDF's on the OKI. As that's unrelated, I guess I should close this & open a new ticket? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337583 Title: various odd errors on all LAN printers Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have 2, completely different, network printers on the LAN, OKI & Dell.
