[Touch-packages] [Bug 1368778] Re: [Launcher] Consider removing launcher hide time out
** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Summary changed: - [Launcher] Consider removing launcher hide time out + [design] [Launcher] Consider removing launcher hide time out -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368778 Title: [design] [Launcher] Consider removing launcher hide time out Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: Triaged Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In user testing some users were confused when launcher kept hiding when they were trying to look at the items to find some specific application. They even tried to keep the launcher open with one finger while scrolling with another. As far as I remember the Launcher is the only place where we use hide time out (inconsistent). I agree that it makes sense to have a time out when desktop in question mouse is used as a pointer device. But on the phone and other touch devices where launcher is revealed with edge gesture I find it irritating and doesn't really serve any purpose. I would consider removing the time out from touch devices. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1368778] Re: [Launcher] Consider removing launcher hide time out
Well Vesa, on the desktop you can start the timeout when the mouse moves away from the launcher on the right, that is the analogue of tapping on the right of the launcher on the phone.
