[Touch-packages] [Bug 1368839] Re: [Design] Application opening animation to start from where the launching action is rooted
Now I actually think this is not that good idea. Technically it's a bit tricky to implement and visually doesn't really enforce our model where recent app stack live behind the right edge. I would have the same transition we use for app switch (short right edge swipe) for app opening animation as well. ** Changed in: ubuntu-ux Importance: Medium => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368839 Title: [Design] Application opening animation to start from where the launching action is rooted Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: Triaged Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Update the app launching animation so that it shows the app expanding out from the app icon that was tapped on, see https://docs.google.com/a/canonical.com/drawings/d/1FgkVPsU6g53nSf2pO7SgRYJsI4UPwrItKXNBVhWqrZs/edit Principle of “consequence of action rooted in the action” There is lots of options how the visual appearance of the opening animation could be. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1368839] Re: [Design] Application opening animation to start from where the launching action is rooted
Since the Dash is a separate application (separate process) and the animation is done by unity8 this would require some inter process communication on the start coordinates. Currently UAL is used to launch applications and that doesn't support such a thing. ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368839 Title: [Design] Application opening animation to start from where the launching action is rooted Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: Triaged Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Update the app launching animation so that it shows the app expanding out from the app icon that was tapped on, see https://docs.google.com/a/canonical.com/drawings/d/1FgkVPsU6g53nSf2pO7SgRYJsI4UPwrItKXNBVhWqrZs/edit Principle of “consequence of action rooted in the action” There is lots of options how the visual appearance of the opening animation could be.
