Your problem I have also discovered on my machines and reported upstream as https://www.cups.org/str.php?L4628 For the time being do the following: If you do not want to share any of your local printers, turn off printer sharing via the "Server settings" in system-config-printer or via the cupsctl --no-share-printers command. If you want to share at least one of your printers, set all printers individually to shared, even the ones you do not intend to access from a remote machine. I have the same problem. I can't find anything that allows the use of a remote printer (i.e. one shared by cups on another machine on the network).
