Note that /etc/pm/sleep.d is no longer in use as of 15.04. We are now managing services with systemd. Then, why is /etc/pm/* still populated? (=: I did finally create an automated work-around the issue by creating a local systemd service which restarts Ethernet based on the r8169 kernel module.
