[Touch-packages] [Bug 1535906] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11
John Drinkwater, to advise, attaching crash reports manually is largely unhelpful, in comparison to allowing apport to handle it. What happens when one files report and why is covered in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs . Despite this, to see if this is already resolved, could you please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise to the results? ** Tags added: wily ** Tags added: latest-bios -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535906 Title: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This has been happening on and off since the Autumn, but only a handful of times so I haven’t been able to discover an underlying cause. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1535906] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11
Excuse my slow reply, internet has been out for a week. There’s only one crash file that coincides with the session being pulled down, though it is not from the event that produced the above attached log files. I hope it helps. ** Attachment added: "_usr_bin_metacity.1000.crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1535906/+attachment/4558691/+files/_usr_bin_metacity.1000.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535906 Title: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This has been happening on and off since the Autumn, but only a handful of times so I haven’t been able to discover an underlying cause. It appears to trigger when I am using an application using GL, especially games though it has happened with just VLC, firefox and a file terminal sessions open. Moved onto the latest nvidia driver today to verify it was still happening there, with NVIDIA 361.18. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1535906] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11
John Drinkwater, to advise, one wouldn't want to post crash files manually to a report. This is due to how it won't allow the apport infrastructure to analyze it, and debug it. Also, it may contain information one may not want to present. Hence, I'll remove it, and you are welcome to file a new report against it via a terminal: sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin_metacity.1000.crash Despite this, given how Vivid is EOL'ing quite soon as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases , could you please upgrade and advise if this is still reproducible? ** Attachment removed: "_usr_bin_metacity.1000.crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1535906/+attachment/4558691/+files/_usr_bin_metacity.1000.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535906 Title: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This has been happening on and off since the Autumn, but only a handful of times so I haven’t been able to discover an underlying cause.
