Forgot to mention that when I run "sudo showkey -s" in terminal to test the output for the Fn+F8 combination I do not see any output. Other key press combinations show outputs. @rbalint I updated the laptop to Ubuntu 20.04. The mic still does not enable/disable with FN+F8 combo and the light is constantly on. Thank you for the bug report. We regularly backport fixes of systemd for bugs affecting a broad set of users, but this particular problem affect only users of this specific laptop model. Could you please report the problem at systemd upstream to automatically get Ubuntu fixed, too, when packaging the first fixed upstream release?
