After that, all I could do was to move the mouse, no interaction worked. Trying to change to a TTY would open the black screen but the text cursor wasn't blinking and nothing happened. I accessed the laptop via SSH and used: screen env DISPLAY=:0 xfwm4 --vblank=xpresent --replace To reload xfwm4. After that, the graphical interface started working again. However, no TTY is accessible and there are 200 dmesg errors per second.
