I'm able to hear sound through my Dell Vostro 1400 laptop in-built speakers right away after installation. But when i connected headphone, I didn't hear sound through the headphone (not through speakers too). Installed linux-backports-modules-2.6.24-12-generic, but then too i could not hear any sound through headphones.
