Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/940841 Title: Acer Aspire One D255 Microphone not working Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ubuntu 11.10 The sound card in Acer Aspire One D255 works fine, although the microphone does not work until you lower it's left or right volume to zero (which is odd, as the mic is a mono input device) The sound card is listed as: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) To lower the volume, I had to install the PulseAudio Volume control and follow these instructions: Launch it, then go to the Input Devices tab and hit the little lock icon, then drop one of the two channels to 0 ('Front Right') worked for me. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1624198 It's a known bug and tried to find it in the bug list but seems like it's missing. I presume the fix should be fairly easy but this bug is another that scares people away from this great system.
