[Touch-packages] [Bug 975146] Re: mic / speakers not working after update - 10.04LTS
[Expired for alsa-driver (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/975146 Title: mic / speakers not working after update - 10.04LTS Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: I have had an ongoing issue with sound after updates. I have sound with external mic/speakers (headphones) but not to the built-in mic/speakers on the laptop. I need the built-in mic/speakers for conferencing. Prior to the most recent, there were 2 parts to Step 1 of the trouble shooting documentation for 10.04 LTS. Most times the first part was sufficient. In all cases before, executing the two was always sufficient to restore sound. No longer. I am running 10.04LTS on an HP g72 laptop; i3 processor; Windows was wiped and 10.04LTS is the only OS on the system. I am including both the output of Step 1 and Step 3 from the troubleshooting procedure below. What jumps out at me is two things. First, the Driver version (1.0.21) does not match the Library and Utilities versions (1.0.24.x). Second, there is no linux- alsa-driver-modules version on my system matching my kernel release (2.6.32-40-generic). Please advise. --- Output of Step 1 wildbill@wildbill-hp-laptop:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa; sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-iquik/alsa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade; sudo apt-get install linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils gdm ubuntu-desktop linux-image-`uname -r` libasound2; sudo apt-get --reinstall install linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils gdm ubuntu-desktop linux-image-`uname -r` libasound2; killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.pulse*; sudo usermod -aG `cat /etc/group | grep -e '^pulse:' -e '^audio:' -e '^pulse-access:' -e '^pulse-rt:' -e '^video:' | awk -F: '{print $1}' | tr '\n' ',' | sed 's:,$::g'` `whoami` [sudo] password for wildbill: Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options --no-default-keyring --secret-keyring /etc/apt/secring.gpg --trustdb-name /etc/apt/trustdb.gpg --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 4E9F485BF943EF0EABA10B5BD225991A72B194E5 gpg: requesting key 72B194E5 from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com gpg: key 72B194E5: "Launchpad Ubuntu Audio Dev team PPA" not changed gpg: Total number processed: 1 gpg: unchanged: 1 Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options --no-default-keyring --secret-keyring /etc/apt/secring.gpg --trustdb-name /etc/apt/trustdb.gpg --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 1B05262E084BDE67358EF400210AE75EDC1FE094 gpg: requesting key DC1FE094 from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com gpg: key DC1FE094: "Launchpad Addons PPA" not changed gpg: Total number processed: 1 gpg: unchanged: 1 Hit http://ppa.launchpad.net lucid Release.gpg Ign http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-iquik/alsa/ubuntu/ lucid/main Translation-en_US Hit http://ppa.launchpad.net lucid Release.gpg Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com lucid Release.gpg Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/restricted Translation-en_US Hit http://security.ubuntu.com lucid-security Release.gpg Ign http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/main Translation-en_US Ign http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/restricted Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.canonical.com lucid Release.gpg Ign http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ lucid/partner Translation-en_US Ign http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa/ubuntu/ lucid/main Translation-en_US Hit http://ppa.launchpad.net lucid Release Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/universe Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/multiverse Translation-en_US Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com lucid-updates Release.gpg Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/universe Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/multiverse Translation-en_US Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com lucid Release Hit http://archive.canonical.com lucid Release Ign http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/universe Translation-en_US Ign http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/multiverse Translation-en_US Hit http://security.ubuntu.com lucid-security Release Hit http://ppa.launchpad.net lucid Release Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com
