[Trac] TracPermissions - can groups inherit group permissions?

2007-11-15 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED] seaward

Hello all,

When adding subjects to groups on the permissions page (0.11dev), can
groups themselves belong to groups? e.g. if I have:
 * group customer with permissions X, Y
 * group acme with permission Z and belonging to group customer
 * subject angela who belongs to group acme

...will angela have permissions X, Y  Z?

Or should I rather add angela to group customer and group acme?

If it doesn't make a difference, is there a best practice?

Thanks! (I'm finding Trac Users a really friendly and helpful bunch :)

The  in the title needs to be url encoded - becoming amp;

or you could just replace it with and :D

[Trac] Setting up images directory for trac

2007-11-15 Thread prasana

After I added the latex-math preprocessor and it creates images of the
math formulas in TRAC_ENV/images/latex/*.png

My question is - where do I configure Image directory in the trac
handler?

Our setup uses :
mod_python handler
SetHandler mod_python
PythonHandler trac.web.modpython_frontend

The generated html for the wiki refers to :

GET /latex/7e50aa934f700521be1604d35d06ef46.png

but gets a 404.

Any pointers?, thanks in advance.

[Trac] Trac trunk TracMercurial 0.11

2007-11-15 Thread Frank Cornelissen

Hi,

having installed trac from trunk (Trac-0.11dev_r6153-py2.4.egg) and
tracmercurial (TracMercurial-0.11.0.1-py2.4.egg) as described on the
wiki/TracMercurial I run into the problem that the hg repository
module is not correctly installed. I'm using hg 0.9.1 and python 2.4.4
(both from debian edge).

The message on top of the welcome page is :

   *Warning:* Can't synchronize with the repository (Unsupported
version control system hg. Check that the Python support libraries
for hg are correctly installed.

The relevant part of the projects trac.ini is :

[components]
tracext.hg.* = enabled

[hg]
node_format = short
show_rev = yes

[trac]
snip
repository_type = hg
repository_dir = /var/projects/elan/brandweer

The debug log shows that the TracMercurial plugin is being loaded :
2007-11-15 23:16:01,307 Trac[__init__] DEBUG: Loading hg from /usr/lib/python2.4
/site-packages/TracMercurial-0.11.0.1-py2.4.egg

Trying to import the MercurialConnector from the python commandline
seems to work:
Python 2.4.4 (#2, Apr  5 2007, 20:11:18)
[GCC 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 from tracext.hg.backend import MercurialConnector

Adding some debugging to the versioncontrol api.py shows that the
RepositoryManager connectors member only contains a
SubversionConnector object.

Any ideas on how to debug this any further? I'm kind of lost here

[Trac] Re: Can I generate links to the actual svn repository

2007-11-15 Thread James Guyton

Going out on a limb, it would probably be possible to define the base path your
particular svn environment is located at in the specific trac.ini for your trac
environment, then to modify the browser page to list the base path + your
navigated path somewhere on the page.

I would imagine that it could get fairly nasty when you start getting to
InterTracs.

There's a shot in the dark for you, but you would be better off listening to a
dev's (Noah/Manu/etc) advice.

Subject: [Trac] Can I generate links to the actual svn repository

Is there a way to generate links to the actual svn repository location.

For example if a user was viewing the trunk dir of the repository in Trac:

   http://trac.host.com/myproject/browser/trunk

Could also generate and render the link to the actual svn location:

   https://svn.host.com/svn/myproject/trunk

so someone could copy use the link in a 'svn co' command?

None whatsoever. The plugin is simply a web-based admin interface to
maintain the trac.ini [ticket-custom] settings.
