I'm glad you found a solution. I think a server restart would have been
the easiest, though. Uploading an empty zip file in merge mode might
have had the same effect (I think :-).

We are working on some issues that will make this possible. Expect some
news in a few days, I hope.

The issue is that the operation takes quite long. Your browser might
just not be waiting long enough for the reply, or the server might
assume that the page will never be served after a certain timeout. We
have some ideas about this that we'll probably discuss after the next
release.

Stay tuned!

[translate-pootle] Pootle MultiTab

2008-06-10 Thread Samuel Murray (Groenkloof)
G'day everyone

In my personal capacity I created an ugly hack to translate stuff faster
in Pootle. It opens multiple tabs simultaneously, so you don't wait for
new strings to load. Let me know what you think. This is a personal
hack, not affiliated to any organisation.

http://leuce.com/tempfile/pootle_multitab_test.zip

I'm not sure yet if this method will stuff things up for the poor sys
admin (resulting in weird logs, etc).

[translate-pootle] Problems creating a project.

2008-06-10 Thread Manuel Trujillo
Hi!

I have installed a Pootle server. All seems to run fine, but if I try
to create a new project, I can only this message:

[Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'po/vlex'

In my installation the directory are in
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-package/Pootle, and under this directory is
another called "po". After read the documentation, I can't find
anything about where pootle would be create the work projects
directories, or anything relationated with this.
Try to find anything about this via google is the same; no info.

I'm very lost at this point, and no idea about how to solve this.
My configuration is a pootle server served by an apache, using
proxy_reverse. All the directory of pootle has the "root:root"
uid:gid.

Please, anybody could help me, please?

Also I will apologize about my bad english... :-(

Thank you!!

Hi Manuel,

How did you install it? (rpm/deb/tar.gz/svn?)
Which version did you install?

you should take a look at the pootle.prefs file (its location depends on your
setup). The default configuration contains all necessary information for
configuring the service.
I guess, you are looking for "podirectory".

Depending on your setup, you will have to change the owner of the "po"
directory.

Lars

[translate-pootle] Where to reach or what to do if you can find a language...

2008-06-10 Thread Urso Wieske
Hi

I checked my language in the ISO standards for country and language codes.
I want to make translations to a language which is not listed in the OLPC /
Pootle language list.

I would like to know what is the procedure for adding new languages?
I would like to create a project fot translation to my specific language.

Kind Regards,

Urso

I suppose... Really I'm very confussed and lost with it. I can create
a project directly into pootle.prefs file, also via web interface. But
with one or another option, always I have the same result.
Is the "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-package/Pootle/po" the "po" directory
by default?

The setup is all by default. The only "no default" setting is the
"pootle" directory created in /etc for accomodate the *.prefs files.

Thank you very much for your help Lars.
