It will be necessary to use the necessary communication channels inside the Creative Commons community to sort out team leadership, discussions, roles, etc. We can help you with all the technical questions about using Pootle here, but for the team communication, you will have to join with the actual people in the translation team at Creative Commons. If you try the URLs that I pasted in the previous mail, it will allow you to see your previous suggestions, and this might help to give you some idea of your previous work. As I suggested before - I think it is worthwhile to contact the Creative Commons administrators or your Spanish team leader (I don't know what the setup is there) to hear if it isn't easier if you give translations instead of suggestions, because it seems that the file you mentioned is mostly untranslated at the moment. Thank you for the responses. I have more questions: I have no idea on how to see my suggested translations so far, therefore I don't know where I was to continue from that point on. Is there a way to figure out where I was (other than trying to recall where I was myself)? Is there a way to know who else is working on the same translation task? I'll like to discuss potential translations. There are a lot of technical words in English that do not have a direct equivalent in Spanish. Where can I find the maintainer of the translations to Spanish? Actually, I signed into this discussion list because it says it is "the definitive place to ask questions, discuss development, etc.", so I am hoping (s)he is on this list. Thanks! If you view the editing functions for the projects: http://translate.creativecommons.org/es/cchost/index.html?editing=1 You can view the suggestions here: http://translate.creativecommons.org/es/cchost/cchost.po?translate=1&review=1&editing=1&has-suggestion=1 With the deployment of the new server, I guess the translation policy might have changed at the CC site to accept suggestions only, by default. Perhaps you can contact the server administrators to ensure that a reviewer has been appointed, or you might want to ask if you can simply be given translate rights (since the project is mostly untranslated at the moment). This conversation does raise the bigger issue of community. Someone volunteers suggestions but they get no feedback. So I think the issue is less to do with the fact that they need to see the status of the suggestion but to 1) Give people with suggestion notice that there are in fact suggestions 2) Give feedback to the person when their suggestion is approved or rejected. So we're failing here in the community building. Freidel chatted to see if a quick solution was possible. I think mostly he was trying to avoid new work to his already full plate ;) One ideas was to email to some global address, configured by language & project as soon as a suggestion is entered. And also email when one is rejected or accepted. You could of course make this very complicated but that is not ideal. This just makes me realise that we need to push forward on the work to break away from jToolkit as that is mostly why we're not doing UI and related work currently.
