Re: [translate-pootle] Regarding access rights
Thanks Wil I completely missed that. We will likely move in your direction. I will write a script to do migrations from existing user.prefs files. There are a couple of bugs left in the trunk that we want to sort out before making another release of Pootle. After the release, I will rebase the mozootle patches onto the trunk. You guys really made Pootle look good! Cheers Wynand > All the user information was migrated to the database. The user.prefs > file isn't used at all on the mozootle branch anymore. Re: [translate-pootle] Regarding access rights
All the user information was migrated to the database. The user.prefs file isn't used at all on the mozootle branch anymore. Logging in locally (non-ldap) will still work but that's the only backwards compatibility we built in. You can setup the database by configuring pootle.prefs and then running initdb.py. Re: [translate-pootle] Regarding access rights
I did a quick merge of the Mozootle branch with the trunk. The merge has so far been successful. There are a few points worth mentioning: * When user information is stored in preferences files, authentication and session data does not seem to work (this might be because I am doing something wrong; Dan would have a better idea), * The "po" directory was renamed to "projects" in the Mozootle branch. For the time being, we would like not to make this change on the trunk. * There are two competing bits of code to mark a translation as fuzzy when a user edits a unit. I didn't merge in this bit of code from the Mozootle branch. Once the first point is sorted out, we'll be able to start testing the merged code. Thus you should start to see some real improvements very soon. Cheers Wynand > On Wo, 2008-08-06 at 07:44 -0700, Wil Clouser wrote: > >> The view permission is fixed on the mozootle branch. The view permission is fixed on the mozootle branch. Friedel (also on this list) will have the most accurate estimate for when that will be merged back to trunk. [translate-pootle] Regarding access rights
Hi! I'm currently evaluating Pootle for use with our community translators. I have a a question regarding access rights, in particular "view". According to the documentation(1), this right has no real effect, and indeed it does not. If I try to set "defaultrights" to nothing, anonymous users are still able to browse all projects and languages. With close to 100 translators, as well as much sensitive information stored in different projects, this is very much a show stopper. Are there any workarounds for this, or do you have a schedule on when you will implement said functionality? Other than this, I must say that Pootle looks very promising:-) Looking forward to your answers. :-) -- Pål Eivind J.
