[Translators-l] Ready for translation: Tech News #8 (2021)

2021-02-18 Thread Johan Jönsson
No content beyond the recurrent items yet, maybe because of the
problems with the train over the last couple of weeks, but Thursday is
Thursday.

The latest tech newsletter is ready for early translation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/2021/08

Direct translation link:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-Tech%2FNews%2F2021%2F08&action=page

I plan to send the newsletter on Monday afternoon (UTC), i.e. Monday
morning PT. The existing translations will be posted on the wikis in
that language. Deadlines:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/For_contributors#The_deadlines

There may be more edits by Friday but the existing content should
generally remain fairly stable. I will let you know on Friday in any
case.

Let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As
always, we appreciate your help and feedback.

(If you haven't translated Tech News previously, see this email:
https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/translators-l/2017-January/003773.html

If I can help you with anything, please ask!

The text of the newsletter is now final. Four new items have been
added since yesterday. There won't be any more changes; you can
translate safely.

Hi,
there is a typo in the section "Problems".

"Editing a timeline my have removed all text from it."
- Do you mean "may have removed"? Please fix it if you agree with me.

Just for your information, MassMessage doesn't seem to be delivering
messages right now (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T275432); I
attempt to send it out tomorrow instead.

Thanks for asking.

The problem with the train over the last few weeks is mainly fixed now, as
far as I know:
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T274936

The reason Tech News was delayed is an unrelated jobs queue issue affecting
MassMessage; any way to help there would be found in this task:
