[Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
Greetings ladies and gentlemen. I get interested in Media Goblin so I visited: https://gobblin.se/ And the first problem I found is the fact that I cannot navigate through the media comfortably. I couldn't find a search bar or a list of tags. For example; if I would want to see dadix's wallpapers he has published, what I would I need to do? Thank you.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreplanet Trisquel talk starting in 35 mins
Is there anywhere where I can watch the speak online? I was not able to watch it live and I can't find any recordings.
Re: [Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
I can't figure it out either but looking at the URLs of the images on the front page I found out this addy https://gobblin.se/u/dadix/gallery/
Re: [Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
Yes, but I put dadix's images as an example. I need a generic method to search the media I want from the page.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreplanet Trisquel talk starting in 35 mins
Some of the files at http://mtjm.eu/releases/lp2014/ contain it (room141.ogv.4 to room141.ogv.6). The stream quality is very bad for this talk and it's probably incomplete. The FSF will release a hopefully better recording some time after the conference. pgp5K1M46hZkS.pgp Description: PGP signature
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreplanet Trisquel talk starting in 35 mins
Thanks, I'll probably wait a few days and hope for a higher quality upload. :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
As you can see, MediaGoblin still needs some more work. Please feel free to help with MediaGoblin!
Re: [Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
Put this in your search engine: site:example-website.com Real example if you want to search on mediagoblin with search engine duckduckgo: site:gobblin.se or gobblin.se/u/dadix/ or for a wallpaper wallpaper site:gobblin.se Click the link below to see the result (http://duckduckgo.com/?q=+wallpaper+site%3Agobblin.set=trisquel) It works with google also.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreplanet Trisquel talk starting in 35 mins
I'm not happy that the stream is in Theora instead of WebM since the quality is better. Now that Abrowser supports VP9 and Opus in in WebM, it will be interesting to see if future streams will accomodate the updated codecs.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Ruby installation messed up; interpreter doesn't work
Interesting you are using that version of jRuby when the official page has 1.7.11 as the latest stable at http://www.jruby.org/download
Re: [Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
Ok, I will keep that in mind. Thank you for telling me this.
[Trisquel-users] Antwort: Compositor doesn't work
I install the compizconfig-settings-manager. As i start it, the desktop goes crazy ... ;-) How could that be? I use differant linux-distributions without problems by using docky with a compositing manager...
Re: [Trisquel-users] A simple Question about mediagoblin
Thank you. You have thaught me something really cool. I didn't know you could do that
Re: [Trisquel-users] Microsoft now fighting UK government over FLOSS
Strategy, not conspiracy. Microsoft is trying its best to achieve some goal. The user is free to do that or not. Sometimes, the game is so twisted the user does not get to see the choice and at that point society should help. Conspiracy is when people believe that Baal, Jehova, Krishna or another imaginary friend set them up to do his or her bidding. I feel that the legal term of conspiracy to do something is misleading as it applies to strategy and planning.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Compositor doesn't work
You installed Trisquel Mini (LXDE)? Try this with xcompmgr in the startup: http://askubuntu.com/questions/78926/how-to-start-applications-such-as-xcompmgr-at-start-up

Re: [Trisquel-users] Pitivi needs YOUR HELP
GNU LGPL is a copyleft license. The difference between GNU GPL and GNU LGPL has to do with linking free software with a non-free software. The issue of transforming a free program to a non-free one is something else, which copyleft licenses deal with. Read https://www.gnu.org/ for more info. For example, you can read https://www.gnu.org/licenses/why-not-lgpl.html.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreplanet Trisquel talk starting in 35 mins
Is the sound cutting out for everyone else? If so this is unwatchable. Perhaps in six months when the FSF gets around to posting video from this event we can see if there is a better version.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abiword and abicollab.net
I wouldn’t agree with that. If a group of people wants to collaborate on a document, especially if this document is a private one, they better use their own service, so they have control over.
[Trisquel-users] Can someone walk me through how to increase the size of the root partition at install?
I'd rather have it be ~25-30gb than the default which is around half that. Unfortunately I have no idea what I'm doing when I look at the installer options.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Pitivi needs YOUR HELP
More precisely, the distinction is that the GPL is strong copyleft, and the LGPL is weak copyleft.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abiword and abicollab.net
That may be, but it's still not SaaSS.
[Trisquel-users] Mark Shuttleworth: ACPI, firmware and your security
ACPI comes from an era when the operating system was proprietary and couldn’t be changed by the hardware manufacturer. We don’t live in that era any more. However, we DO live in an era where any firmware code running on your phone, tablet, PC, TV, wifi router, washing machine, server, or the server running the cloud your SAAS app is running on, is a threat vector against you. [...] Arguing for ACPI on your next-generation device is arguing for a trojan horse of monumental proportions to be installed in your living room and in your data centre. I’ve been to Troy, there is not much left. From : http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/1332 What do you think?
