Re: [Trisquel-users] synchronize iPod Nano 5G
Try Banshee. It worked when I tried it and even supported videos but I stopped using it as I added Rockbox to my iPod.

[Trisquel-users] how to change the text-based console colors from gray on black to red on black
Hello Trisquel users, I've been trying to figure out how to change the text-based console colors from gray on black to red on black. I've currently have a VM of Trisqual Mini with minor tweaks made to it such as unwanted/unneeded packages removed [gnome-mplayer, xfburn, epdfview, gpicview etc...] Installed joe, mc (midnight commander) and calcurse I've changed grub. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="text" My goal is to use an old desktop for offline and bare bone school purposes in a distraction free working environment on a FSF-approved disto. Joe = to write mc = to transfer calcurve = for keeping track and so far I've gotten 99% of what I want, however, the gray on black is not what I prefer. I want to change from the "old.ong" to the "new.png" Hopefully I've provided enought information. Thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] synchronize iPod Nano 5G
Have you tried syncing with gtkpod? I'm not sure if it will work with the 5G Nano, but it's worth a try.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 Alpha Images
I'm not quite at the level to test, but I just wanted to say I'm looking forward to the official release of 7...and playing with a more stable version of the newer Pitivi!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 Alpha Images
Installed the trisquel_7.0-20140519_amd64.iso on my Toshiba Satellite L500 today. Been running for several hours without any problems:) Thanks to Ruben and all for the great work!
Re: [Trisquel-users] New on Trisquel: how to see live videos and chatting on sites
There is also an experimental extension developed by Mozilla called Shumway [1] that you can try. I don't know how it relates to Gnash or Lightspark but it's worth giving it a try. [1] http://mozilla.github.io/shumway/
Re: [Trisquel-users] DRM, CDM, EME and Mozilla
Why not just create another side project that's web based and includes this "sandbox" idea? An app designed from the ground up for viewing this crap. ...Or a browser extension. That way the browser itself could remain committed to it's principles and anyone that wants to can use the non-free junk can do so without affecting anyone else. I agree with Chris that we need to have at least one major browser without this nonsense. That way websites will feel pressure not to put ALL of their video (DRM or not) into this rat hole.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Best free laptop
It's not in libreboot yet, but it will be soon. However, it's possible to build a coreboot ROM for T60 that is blob-free, with native graphics instead of VGA option ROM (VBIOS), and with non-free microcode updates removed (not included in ROM). It also has backlight support (Fn+Home and Fn+End). The source code in question is still coreboot, but work on the next libreboot release is well underway, which will have these changes. X60 is also improved: backlight controls! (Fn+Home and Fn+End) See here for more details: http://libreboot.org/howto.html#x60_native_notes http://libreboot.org/howto.html#t60_native_notes - these are for coreboot, but the changes there will be in next libreboot release. stay tuned!
[Trisquel-users] Best free laptop
Hello everybody, The T60 can now be used in complete freedom now that the non-free VGA BIOS has been replaced by free graphics - libreboot now supports the T60. The QXGA resolution (2056x1536) 15" version with intel graphics is probably the best free software laptop that one can assemble today. I'm currently using one with QXGA resolution and it is great. It's a shame that most laptops have much worse screens considering that tablets and phones with high resolution screens are easy to find.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Jitsi video black
Thanks for the reply. True, it's using VP8 too, but stil is not working. When I start the call, it's just a black video. Is there a tutorial for installing and setting a software for video calls, that works on Trisquel? I tried all kinds of software and combinations, but it's either the video, or the audio, or both that does not work in Trisquel. Thanks
Re: [Trisquel-users] New on Trisquel: how to see live videos and chatting on sites
Thanks onpon4 On livestream I can get the rtsp link if I use user agent switcher add-on to be an android with opera. I also had to go to advanced settings in VLC, click inputs/codecs, scroll to the bottom and changed the cache setting to 500. Works brilliantly Cheers
Re: [Trisquel-users] CUDA programming
If you have an Intel card, there's a free OpenCL driver. http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Beignet/ It's available in Belenos.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 Alpha Images
Hey again, Just noticed there being multiples of the same alpha images of Trisquel 7 on the images page linked above by jxself. Only difference is the dates and size. For example: trisquel_7.0-20140515_amd64.iso 15-May-2014 20:25 517M & trisquel_7.0-20140518_amd64.iso 18-May-2014 18:11 855M I have installed the image from the 15th but have been keeping up to date via 'apt-get' so does that mean I am up to date or is a reinstall necessary? Thanks in advance, Steve
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 Alpha Images
Hi everyone, Currently testing Trisquel 7.0 amd64 out on a very new Acer Aspire E1-570 and it works like a charm. I'm loving the look and feel of it! Keep up the great work! Steve
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 Alpha Images
Glad to hear that; Rubén, Jason, Chris.. cheers! (= Ad.: HDMI & Apple's llvm won't make good friends.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DRM, CDM, EME and Mozilla
The point is that the for-profit is running the show (in practice).

[Trisquel-users] synchronize iPod Nano 5G
Hi. A few months ago I could add and remove music to an iPod Nano 5G by just adding files HashInfo and SysInfo at the iPodControl/Device folder in the Ipod. But now it has become impossible. I have even reset the iPod and even erased all files in it (system files) to recover factory settings. But the music that gets recorded on the iPod will not be seen by it once I disconnect it from the computer. I can see the songs saved in the Music folder. That means that the database has not been updated. I have launched Rhythmbox through a terminal window. But I see no errors on it pertaining the synchronization. -- Saludos libres, Quiliro Ordóñez 600 8579 signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
