It's for both 6 and 7.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2200
Yea- all the 802.11n cards except some broadcom and atheros are dependent on non-free firmware. The newer 802.11ac atheros are also dependent on non-free firmware unfortunately. Hopefully we'll get them to release the code like they've done for the 802.11n twice now, but it's a lot of work. Thus far they've been uncooperative with 802.11ac.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2200
Hm, I felt sure my old laptop had an Intel wireless card. Not sure where I got that idea from, though, it clearly has a Realtek card, looking back at the h-node entry I made for it.[1] [1] http://h-node.org/notebooks/view/en/1012/Satellite-L305-S5955/1/1/undef/undef/undef/undef/undef/undef/undef/satellite
Re: [Trisquel-users] Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2200
I don't believe any of them are free software friendly actually. I might be mistaken about older cards though.

Re: [Trisquel-users] quitter.no - a new GNUsocial site
If anybody wan't to - they can replace the link on the right (this site) - Microblog - with this group. https://quitter.no/group/trisquel
Re: [Trisquel-users] quitter.no - a new GNUsocial site
FYI: - as a user you can disable the "twitter" like interface to get a standard GNUsocial interface / user experience.
Re: [Trisquel-users] quitter.no - a new GNUsocial site
Sure it's standard GNUsocial - https://gitorious.org/social with a plugin named Qvitter. - https://github.com/hannesmannerheim/qvitter AGPL all the way.

I'm not a Twitter user, but I like the user interface. Is this GNU Social website a free software compliant with its GNU AGPL license? I would like to request the source code. Congrats! -- Tiberiu C. Hi all, Just want to inform you about a new GNUsocial site available for public. It's added a twitter "like" interface. Available at : https://quitter.no - https://quitter.es Enjoy!
Re: [Trisquel-users] A Surprise, and a Thank You!,
I've used ThinkPenguin before, to get a new wireless card for my main computer at home (the ills of having only one cable jack in the entire house). If I ever need to get this computer going wirelessly, I'll certainly turn to them.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Learning self-defense
Hi guys. I'm back... I've red all your posts and at first I was really surprise specially after reading... http://www.cryptogon.com/?p=624 from salparadise and viewing the links that lembas provided. As for the TAILS conversation, it is not very clear to me wheather it is safe to use because of the presence of non-prop. software. But the thing is, I've tried it and it can be cumbersome for productive work. Thanks to GNUser for the tips. If you have any interesting link you could provide, I would like to check it out! Any other ideas on how to learn self-defense? or Any further interesting ideas to discuss here?
Re: [Trisquel-users] A Surprise, and a Thank You!,
Oh! Onpon4, it's you, I didn't recognize you since you change your Avatar, I think the new one suits you very well. :-) going back to using a lightweigh alternatives, I recommend icewm; it also have a configurable task bar.
Re: [Trisquel-users] What is trisquel without libreboot?
Sorry about the "endorsement" misconception- I meant that it came with 100% free software preinstalled, a la the /links/companies URL.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Hello from a new user
Welcome, serval! I'm pretty new, myself.

Re: [Trisquel-users] A Surprise, and a Thank You!,
Glad to hear of your success. While the mini (lxde) is much lighter than the regular (gnome) there are still much lighter options. (say openbox) Starting install from a minimal netinstall would guarantee there are no lurking useless background processes sucking away cycles and ram. And then configuring & compiling kernel (and programs most often used). This would be best if done on a faster machine and then moved onto the old timer. :) Stay free!
Re: [Trisquel-users] A Surprise, and a Thank You!,
I'm very glad and after reading your story, I'm thinkinig about giving Trisquel mini a try on my old computer. Ah, and in case you need wireless connection, you can rely on Thikpenguin; I'm using the TPE-N150USB on my current laptop and it works very well.

> I should mention, I am not very technically knowledgeable on this. I do not know if that will be held against me on this forum. But I have tried to read and grasp about the free hardware matter. I came to the conclusion that Stallman is right. Freedom is what Trisquel and the Free Software movement are all about. > bio It's BIOS (basic input output system) > Around here you believe that a non free bio trisquel computer gives a significant improvement on security compared to ubuntu, mint? Correct. > If thinkpeguin had a libreboot trisquel notebook for sale, and the price tag should happen to be 2 or 3 times the price of a comparable non free bio notebook, I would not get the libreboot notebook. I find it unacceptable that I cannot get a free software notebook that has current specs and a price about a non free option. I think there is not one user on this forum who would not like a modern, free and cheap computer. Unfortunately there is nobody able to offer one.
