[Trisquel-users] Re : Could systemd be an inconvenient on portability?
@northernarcher: A quote from a forum with an illustration that aims to compare systemd to antisemitism in the 30s. Really? What is systemd? It's an init system. (...) Wrong. For the (n+1)th time (since I have already written nth time in this thread): systemd is an umbrella project and not only a pid 1. Just read the first sentence describing it on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systemd (Wikipedia): systemd is a suite of system management daemons, libraries, and utilities designed as a central management and configuration platform for the Linux computer operating system. Or the first sentence on https://wiki.freedesktop.org/www/Software/systemd/ (systemd's home page): systemd is a suite of basic building blocks for a Linux system.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Wireless card advice
PCIe would be preferred, yes.
[Trisquel-users] Choice of DE in Graphical Install
Wouldn't it be nice if users can make a choice of DE in Graphical Install like the installer for Antergos?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wireless card advice
Did not exactly mean it that way, what I basically want to know is which would have the best range for the price. My English is still isn't the best so I hope thats clearer...
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wireless card advice
Do you want PCIe or USB?
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
[UPDATE] Today, got reply from Ludovic Courtes. This is the most relevant part from his mail; (Unedited.) AIUI, Unetbootin creates USB images from ISO images. Currently we provide USB images of GuixSD, so presumably nothing is needed on that front. Creating ISO images of GuixSD should be doable but requires hacking in Guix itself. We haven’t done it yet, mostly because it seems that most machines can boot on USB nowadays, but less and less have a CD-ROM drive. Please use guix-de...@gnu.org for future correspondence. So, perhaps someone needs to check the source code and supply appropriate USB image, for GuixSD to work properly.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Playing VP9 Opus In Trisquel 7
It's good that you offer this as many PPAs on Launchpad stopped offering the latest VLC for Ubuntu 14.04/Trisquel 7. If all else fails, Abrowser plays the newer WebM spec and you can use that to play in a pinch. If you aren't sure, there is http://beta.html5test.com to check.
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
Nice work pizza Just a thought: how about freedom, so that people don't mistake the goal for price
Re: [Trisquel-users] Playing VP9 Opus In Trisquel 7
You should add this upstream, instead of in your repo. Try following the new and shiny contributing guidelines , and don't worry to ask if you need help.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wireless card advice
they don't.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Choice of DE in Graphical Install
This would require a lot of work on Ubiquity, the installer of Trisquel, which is not set up for that.
[Trisquel-users] Re : any applet for hardware temps?
You can also do this: sudo apt-get install lm-sensors Then: watch -n1 sensors
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
btw as someone else is already working on something similar: http://blogs.coreboot.org/blog/2015/05/19/gsoc-2015-introduction-end-user-flash-tool/ i have emailed them to ask if the two projects could join and am waiting for a response.

4chan is full of idiots. The original post is from 4chan.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Choice of DE in Graphical Install
clearly nice!
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
..
Re: [Trisquel-users] any applet for hardware temps?
I think you also have to run sensors-detect to detect your sensors, and then load the required kernel modules.
[Trisquel-users] Wireless card advice
Which of the wireless cards sold by Think Penguin would be best match for the TPE-NWIFIROUTER2 router?
