[Trisquel-users] How to translate for Trisquel
How can I translate Trisquel into other languages? I don't mean the website or the wiki, but the distro itself.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Personal Digital Assistant
oh, the prototype was $1,500. $540 sounds good :D
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to translate for Trisquel
I'm guessing it pulls translations from Ubuntu, which is why there are many untranslated parts, particularly during the Trisquel-specific parts of the system and its installation.
Re: [Trisquel-users] What CPU to buy
The good stuff graphics wise from Intel (i7 4770R) is Has well and thus a bad idea until its deblobbed more. It's also a pretty rare chip.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Laptop shuts down after waking up from suspend
And if the kernel was updated, then it is worth booting the previous kernel to see if the problem still occurs. To boot the previous kernel, GRUB's password (in /etc/grub.d/01_PASSWORD) must be known or removed.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Can Trisquel live on a stick?
Be aware a USB stick will quickly die if you write a lot to it (logs for instance).
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to translate for Trisquel
Every software project manages its own translations: GNOME, Firefox, LibreOffice, Liferea, etc.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to translate for Trisquel
Right, but I'm thinking of the Trisquel installer. How to translate it?
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to translate for Trisquel
I see what you mean now. I had no idea the language support was incomplete. That is because ever since I was a kiddo using Windows 95 I preferred the English language for my OS, so I did not use Italian for instance on Trisquel.. Maybe try asking Quidam on IRC or aklis.
Re: [Trisquel-users] FX Settings difficult in Audacity
I didn't try it yet, but Ardour might be able to do it out of the box. Even LMMS, if I'm not mistaken.

[Trisquel-users] ThinkPenguin Looking for Web Developer Expereinced with Drupal & Ubercart
We're looking to hire a new web developer (contract) to upgrade our web site which is built on Drupal and Ubercart. If anybody is interested see the post I made about it here: https://www.thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/were-hiring-web-developer Upon successful completion if things go well we'll probably want to start working on a new site so there is future opportunity here even though the initial job may be on the smaller side.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 asks twice for user password
One question: did you change the display manager from lightdm to gdm or others? If that is so I might have the solution to your problem. Do not uninstall anything, I might have a better solution if the answer is affirmative.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to translate for Trisquel
Thanks, I do have the same question. But since yesterday I become my baby 's daughterlittle time to translate
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to translate for Trisquel
If you are talking about the slide-show presenting Trisquel, then contact Trisquel developers. If you are talking about the rest of the installer, then it should be a contribution to https://launchpad.net/ubiquity https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+source/ubiquity gives the current status of the translation for the next Ubuntu release (Trisquel 8 will be based on it).
Re: [Trisquel-users] What CPU to buy
Gtx770 will be better option that any Intel GPU. And gtx650 still better that any Intel, I think. (better only if reclocked).
Re: [Trisquel-users] ASUS Chromebook C201 now supported in libreboot - ARM CPU
@fchmmr I just wanted to post here and find out what the progress is on Parabola for this Chromebook? Thanks
Re: [Trisquel-users] What CPU to buy
But Intel graphics are much more straightforward to use (no reclocking or scripting at boot) and consistently outperform PCI-E GPU's on open drivers ever so slightly. It is unfortunate that Haswell/Skylake messed with a good thing (broke linux-libre) ,since they have nice graphics
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can Trisquel live on a stick?
You need to make a usb stick with "persistence", i,e, a a {partition labeled, file named} casper-rw. Then it will remember your changes. The graphical tools might work or then you could do it manually.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 asks twice for user password
Mis-typed password: No - when I flub my password, the system tells me so and just repeats the same window without any intervening screen displays. New display manager: No. BUM is the bootup manager. I looked in today's system log, during which I started three times in order to get just one request for user authentication: These two sequences only happened during the first of the three startups: Nov 10 07:15:12 george-ThinkPad-T420 avahi-daemon[619]: Found user 'avahi' (UID 107) and group 'avahi' (GID 113). [Trisquel-users] Can Trisquel live on a stick?
I am loving Trisquel! It is super slick. What I am wondering if it I could fully install it on a USB stick. I have been using a live boot USB but it breaks when I install new software into it. Any ideas?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 asks twice for user password
Banana Magique: BUM is boot-up manager, a very neat and usefull application. http://www.marzocca.net/linux/bumdocs.html
Re: [Trisquel-users] Laptop shuts down after waking up from suspend
Hmm, I briefly researched this and it appears to be mostly related to nvidia GPUs. That is not your case though as you have an integrated Intel one. I would try to contact the libreboot guys. Also, first of all try upgrading to the latest jxself's kernel -> https://jxself.org/linux-libre/
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can Trisquel live on a stick?
What do you mean? Did you install it on your PC/Laptop? Is it the only iOS running? Which version do you have of Trisquel? How does it 'break' when you install new software? How do you install new software?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can Trisquel live on a stick?
When it came out this year in April I installed Debian Jessie on a USB stick. That was very simple. You need just to follow the instructions on screen, select the USB stick as hard-drive. The only thing you need to pay attention to is where to install GRUB. If I remember correctly I installed it firs on the USB stick itself but then could not manage to boot it. Then I reinstalled Debian again and the second time I selected the laptop's hardrive so that GRUB was updated with the entry for Debian.

I don't know much about CMSs, but have you considered Typo3? I hear it's Enterprise Grade stuff.

[Trisquel-users] Upgrading from Trisquel 6.1 to 7 failed with errors and now laptop gets stuck in bootloading phase
Hi, I finally got around to upgrade from Trisquel 6.1 to 7. I backed up my entire home folder, updated, 'safe-upgraded', cleaned and autocleaned using aptitude my 6.1 install. I also re-booted my machine to use the latest kernel (3.2.0-93-generic if I remember correctly) that was installed with that last upgrade. I then proceeded to upgrade to Trisquel 7 (via tty1) by executing 'do-release-upgrade' as recommended. Strangely, I was not prompted to run as sudo which I would have expected. Anyway, the upgrade appeared to progress as expected yet when it finally 'finished' there were messages stating that their were errors with the upgrade. I assumed due to these errors (whatever their cause) my system would remain on 6.1. Now, I'm in the situation where my machine starts to boot up, attempts to load the OS but then hangs at some point in the process with the screen displaying some startup messages but flashing making it difficult to read what they say. I should state my machine is a Libreboot X60 but at this point I've no reason to suspect the bootloader. Has anyone experienced such an issue during a similar trisquel upgrade? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
