Re: [Trisquel-users] New ReTux Release and a Level Making Competition
It is really funny!! I played it with python3 (i already had pygame for python3) and I've played a little bit and it is great, really fast and dynamic. I've never played mario that much so I rather play your game =) I will try to make a good level for the contest
Re: [Trisquel-users] How can I installed bitmask of the file tar.gz?
Actually, don't. Trisquel is very old now and you will most probably have unsatisfied dependencies if you go the package through repository way. Download the standalone bundle and run the executable.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How can I installed bitmask of the file tar.gz?
Sorry, what a key and how?
Re: [Trisquel-users] forced to Cisco proprietary
Yeap, chickens and pigeons, they all die a miserable death of baldness..LOL
Re: [Trisquel-users] forced to Cisco proprietary
I agree with you, separate machines to keep the jobs secluded from each other,
Re: [Trisquel-users] New ReTux Release and a Level Making Competition
I was going to wait until tomorrow to post this announcement, but since someone has already done something that involves the change, I've posted it now: https://savannah.nongnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=8558 Three things: First, a small bugfix release of ReTux is now available. This should make it possible to run ReTux if you don't have Tkinter installed. Second, and this might sadden some people, I have decided to pull the demo version. It's been almost a week since I released that version, and I don't feel like it's generating any substantial interest. Plus, it's either a maintenance burden or a stain on ReTux's reputation; for example, to avoid leaving that Tkinter-related bug in the demo, I would have had to update it the same time I updated the full release. But third, I have decided that I am going to give gratis copies of ReTux to anyone who announces that they are going to participate in the level making competition before June 20. albertoefg is the first person to get this. I hope this limited-time offer will encourage more people to participate and make it possible for people who couldn't pay the normal $10 price to get ReTux.
Re: [Trisquel-users] New ReTux Release and a Level Making Competition
Awesome! I've sent you a response to the email you sent. :) For the record, no programming is required to create levels. (You can do some scripting if you want to, but you don't have to.)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Help me burning encryped DVD with Luks
I haven't got any doubt that his works But I'm wondering what happens if you burn this .img, put it in the trash and if this disc can work with a device file in /dev/mapper and a mount point file in ~/ as those files depends of the .img I don't think this can work on another computer. I'm going to install Tomb (i haven't done it yet) to see how a CD-R behaves with a .tomb file. I hope it will woks fine. I still haven't got any real solution yet.
Re: [Trisquel-users] forced to Cisco proprietary
> any feather bird So, any bird with feathers, i.e. any bird at all?
Re: [Trisquel-users] New ReTux Release and a Level Making Competition
I will make a level to participate on the level contest. I have never participated and I am not a programmer but I think it will be fun =)
Re: [Trisquel-users] forced to Cisco proprietary
SuperTramp83 you forgot to add my feather pen and my china ink... That is why any feather bird never like me at those days
Re: [Trisquel-users] forced to Cisco proprietary
Basically, my idea was to separate your personal computing and data from anything Cisco. If you run a separated OS (or even several OS) in either: - a virtual machine - Wine, hardened preferably - or another computer, then even Javascript or the firmwares aren't much of an issue in terms of privacy. I'm not a fan of online services also because you can't study much when offline. If not needed, I wouldn't spend on Cisco hardware. You might be able to study most of the features on paper, and maybe there are ways to test it without owning one during the course. Plus if you have the cash for Cisco equipment, investing on a dedicated work/study laptop isn't a bad idea IMO. I'm not sure how Wine relates to mobility though. I hope this answers your question.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel installation - Checking
* GPU - NVIDIA 680 OC * No wifi adapter But there must be an "Device Administrator" to check that everything works fine. (Or commands) - A guide that a Trisquel installer should follow to check a successful and flawless installation. I used 'hardinfo' to generate a report, but it only list and doesn't tell if a device is no compatible or drivers are needed. And synchronization didn't work. Thanks.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wacom tablets
Yes, and it's probably the better option, since it has an integrated animation program inside. The other one I was thinking of was Grafx2.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel installation - Checking
>So, I would like to know all checks or what steps do I have to take, to ensure that the whole computer could work right. The two components that need to be checked are the GPU and the wifi adapter. If it is an AMD GPU then you are going to be very, very disappointed (without the proprietary firmware you will have no video acceleration, and a furnace, expect temps as high as 100 C now that it is summer, almost). Intel GPUs other than the new skylake will do their job perfectly fine. Most Nvidias will work fine (at least they did on every PC I installed Debian or Trisquel on for those few relatives and mates that care about free software). The wifi adapter must be an Atheros 802.11N chip, series AR9xxx or AR5xxx.
[Trisquel-users] Trisquel installation - Checking
Hi, I tried live trisquel_7.0_amd64.iso on a computer. A rare noise came from the computer. I think it was a disk creeping or something like that. It was continuous. (I had sound, monitor and internet connection working) So, I would like to know all checks or what steps do I have to take, to ensure that the whole computer could work right. (Or other hardware is needed) Thanks.
Re: [Trisquel-users] iMac fans
This is because Trisquel doesn't have systemd. systemctl is a systemd command. Try running it manually with "sudo start mbpfan" or enable with Upstart by "sudo cp mbpfan.upstart /etc/init/mbpfan.conf sudo start mbpfan"
Re: [Trisquel-users] iMac fans
Just to be sure: have the fans been cleaned lately?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wacom tablets
Thanks you, this is what I need!
Re: [Trisquel-users] iMac fans
I followed this guide: https://ineed.coffee/3838/a-beginners-tutorial-for-mbpfan-under-ubuntu/ Unfortunately when I enter this command near the end: sudo systemctl enable mbpfan.service I get this message: sudo: systemctl: command not found
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wacom tablets
I have the idea of using wacom tablets, for fast sketch/draw and ilustration, not for editing image or adding layers. Maybe i wrong on this.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Ars Technical: Oracle vs Google verdict might kill the GPL
dguth...@posteo.net, Sáb 28 Mai 2016 02:42:37 CEST: Ars Technica have written an article about the outcome of the Oracle vs Google trial: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2016/05/op-ed-oracle-attorney-says-googles-court-victory-might-kill-the-gpl/ They argue that the verdict, that use of the Java APIs was "fair use" could destroy the GNU GPL because Google argued that anything freely available can be used as such. Personally, I think it could be a valid point. No, that's ridiculous. At the Oracle lawsuit, Annette Hurst lost. At this article, Annette Hurst show she fails to understand why. Hence, a loser. [Trisquel-users] Re : Wacom tablets
You probably have Aseprite in mind.
Re: [Trisquel-users] CDE -- Common Desktop Environment
Finally I found out how to take screenshots natively on CDE. There are two programs: 'xwd' for capture and 'xwud' for displaying. xwd -out myfile.xwd usage: xwd [-display host:dpy] [-debug] [-help] [{-root|-id |-name }] [-nobdrs] [-out ] [-xy] [-add value] [-frame] xwud myfile.xwd usage: xwud [-in ] [-noclick] [-geometry ] [-display ] [-new] [-std ] [-raw] [-vis ] [-help] [-rv] [-plane ] [-fg ] [-bg ] [-scale] http://www.ce.utexas.edu/prof/maidment/CE397/webpage/capture/capture.htm
[Trisquel-users] Re : Ars Technical: Oracle vs Google verdict might kill the GPL
Aye, it's an op-ed. I just meant more generally they have posted an article. It's also corporate propaganda, even more than some of the stuff that appears there infrequently.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How can I installed bitmask of the file tar.gz?
Unfortunately, the repo doesn't work with Ubuntu Trusty Tahr / Trisquel Belenos anymore. Download the stand-alone file and use it in the meantime.
