2017-06-02 Thread lcerf

According to http://www.yacy.net :

[ http://www.yacy.net/release/yacy_v1.92_20161226_9000.tar.gz is a ] Generic
package for all systems. Decompress, run the start script and open
http://localhost:8090. This needs a OpenJDK7 runtime environment.

"openjdk-7-jre-headless", in the repository, should be enough for "a OpenJDK7
runtime environment".

The packages in the PPA are for Ubuntu 16.04. They may probably be installed
on Trisquel 8, probably not on Trisquel 7.

I know both curl and wget have the option to resume downloads, but this is
supposed to be used on websites that you really have to download from the
browser. Or if you just want to use the browser for some reason.

It will not work, if you do not install software which is not in the main
repository. I do not know about debian 9.

This page lists currently running public instances:

Of course, what would be ideal is to create your own MediaGoblin instance if
you can.

I just bought from computer repair's shop trash. TRENDnet TEW-424UB (Version
3.1R) for 1EUR.
Works like charm, but beware there are 2 versions of this device white one
and blue one. You need BLUE, white has other chipset which hasn't freeware
drivers.

Check H-node for prove.

I don't want to have an RSS. I'd like to be notified after a certain time if a
page is updated. Thanks for the ideas! I'm new to GNU/Linux (Since late 2015)
and I still havent gotten creative with chaining programs using pipes and such.
I'll experiment. Thanks!

RSS/ATOM feed?
Use wget? Pipe it to diff? If diff detects a change, do some notification
thing. Otherwise quit. Automate via cron to check as often as you wish.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Used "DD" Command - Wrong HDD!

2017-06-02 Thread eloi . igor
Wouldn't be better for you to use gparted or Gnome disk utility? But if you
really want to use dd, at least try to format the disk with gparted, and try
again.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Understanding and managing downloads in firefox based browsers

2017-06-02 Thread eloi . igor
Idk about the browser, but you can use "wget -c" to continue a Download if
you have to stop for whatever reason. I never encountered a situation where
this didn't work.

Re: [Trisquel-users] deepin desktop environment

2017-06-02 Thread eloi . igor

You can try and add the repositories from deepin, as suggested here:
https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-install-Deepin-DE-on-Ubuntu-15-04
You can also try to add the ppa: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:leaeasy/dde
You can find more about this ppa here:
https://launchpad.net/~leaeasy/+archive/ubuntu/dde

As common here, the warning is the same: I do not know if there is
proprietary software in any of these (knowing deepin it most likely has), nor
can I guarantee it will not have any proprietary software in the future.

If you succeed post a screenshot. Deepin de is rally beautiful, and many here
are concerned about the beauty of the de. See how it goes, right?
