Re: [Trisquel-users] How to boot from an external drive (liveusb or other) from Trisquel in order to install Trisquel mini
Thanks It worked but not without problems. I explain: I entered the bios by pressing f2 in the starting process. Then i had to disable the secure boot option and change the device too boot the attached usb. At this point there was no problem. But in the instalattion process an error or problem message appear stating that if i installed the OS it will generate a problem related with the BIOS are the UEFI or EFI, something like that, i dont remember exactly. For that reason i opted to cancell the instalattion and it returned me to the BIOS. In the BIOS there was no option anymore to choose the hard drive or the pendrive to boot, and i exit the bios it returned me to it right away. I had no other option that to reatach the pendrive and install Trisquel mini, despite this problem. With this OS im seeing the next problems: Trisquel mini seems to run slower than normal Trisquel now. Also, when i start the computer the trisquel symbol does not look centered. I can't enter to the BIOS with f2 again. Any help would be much apreciated. Thanks in advance.

It applies to any computer. What allows you to boot on the live system is the BIOS (or UEFI), which runs before any operating system.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 8 on a Samsung m2 SSD 850 EVO (120GB)?
Unfortunately after many attempts I could only replace Trisquel with Debian (which worked instantly) since the Trisquel installer did not work with this disk in legacy mode at all and despite about one full week of trying out different things I was unable to create a boot menu entry for the otherwise successful UEFI installation. I guess I just have a unlucky assembly of hardware. :( This is really a shame since the Trisquel 8 live system (even on this hardware) feels very good and promising.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to boot from an external drive (liveusb or other) from Trisquel in order to install Trisquel mini
I firts intalled Trisquel from Windows 10. In order to do it i followed the next steps: 1) Create the live usb with a program which name i don't remember. 2) Press the shut down option in the windows menu while pressing ctrl. 3) Then, in the bios i think, disable fast boot and secure boot. 4) Again, shut down the computer while pressing ctrl. 5) After that i chosed to boot the computer with the usb that was attached to it. Then, the instalattion windows of Trisquel apperead. In general, it was not a straightforward procedure.

I accidentally post this twice, so please do write in this line. I do not see any options to delete it, so i hope the administrators can do it instead of me. Sorry for the inconviniences

Re: [Trisquel-users] How to boot from an external drive (liveusb or other) from Trisquel in order to install Trisquel mini
I think this depends on your hardware. If you for example are using a Crapple machine, there are different startup options available by pressing various keys while booting. What did you do when you installed Trisquel?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't mount internal HDD's while in XFCE. Don't have permission.
OK everyone. I solved the issue myself. Basically XFCE didn't come with a dependency to mount disks without root. All I needed to do was to install a package called "policykit-desktop-privileges" $ sudo apt install policykit-desktop-privileges
