Thanx ;)

It's not in Trisquel 8 because it's not and Xenial, but what's weird is that it's back in Bionic. https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/xchat If it was removed from Xenial because it's abandoned, I'm not sure why it's back for Bionic despite there being no new release. signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Re: [Trisquel-users] "Hello New World"
Hello and welcome to the free software community. Ubuntu uses bash as its shell, Trisquel uses the same shell (the shell is the command line user interface). The only difference is that you would not be able to execute commands that require non-free software.
Re: [Trisquel-users] I need CWirc packaged
Yes, Xchat is dead. Long live the fork HexChat.
[Trisquel-users] "Hello New World"
Hello New World I am new, I finally moved on with GNU/Linux Trisquel i have been on and off with Microsoft/ubuntu since 1999. and understanding the truth about GNU and linux. I finally got my hp compaq 6910p to work 100% with my usb wifi TP-LINK TL-WN821N 300MBPS.to fuction well with trisquel GNU/LINUX. Plus today Feb/7/2019 in Toronto,Ontario Canada I met Richard Stallman and took a picture with him and listen to him all about this O.S. Amazing O.S Extreme fast and to good. I am use to dealing with unbuntu's terminal so i guess the command on ubuntu is the same as trisquel.(I guess) As Mr.Stallman told me about joining the group of helping and learning is all I dream to do. I can't wait to see all about software 01010101010101010 and executable files and so so much to learn. P.S My New Home ;)
Re: [Trisquel-users] I need CWirc packaged
I think it doesn't come in the Ubuntu 16.04 repos. I also found that it has not being maintained since 2010, I think that would be enough reason to not include it. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2321458
[Trisquel-users] Re : I need CWirc packaged
XChat is actually absent from Trisquel 8's repository. I do not know why.
Re: [Trisquel-users] I need CWirc packaged
You can probably use the .deb package http://myspace.voo.be/pcoupard/cwirc/debian/cwirc_2.0.0-0_i386.deb. You could also build it from source, https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/CWirc here is a link to the tar file. If you need any further help let me know, I'd be happy to help.
[Trisquel-users] I need CWirc packaged
CWirc was available in Trusty but is not available in Xenial. Could somebody package it? https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=cwirc=names= all=all What would you charge?

Oh, I didn't know you double posted... Well in that case, refer this thread's answer: https://trisquel.info/en/forum/thinkpad-w510-wifi-whitelist-replacement-cards-0 unless you waiting for other replies.
Re: [Trisquel-users] ThinkPad W510 Wifi - Whitelist, Replacement Cards..
Here is one idea: https://www.thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/penguin-wireless-n-usb-adapter-gnu-linux-tpe-n150usb If you cannot use a form of coreboot/me cleaner then you should probably either A: do the above, or B: get a new laptop. The X230 is the most recent coreboot laptop that I know you can strip down the intel me 95% including the network stack. But for that, you would be better off buying from here: http://zerocat.org/shop-en.html IF not, and this is a better option, in fact I am typing from this: A libreboot device. Such as the x200, T400, X60 64 bit, (which can be done via software if you extremely careful!) I use an x200, for a more complete list of libreboot devices,: https://libreboot.org/docs/install/ But yeah, for now I recommend the usb adapter I mentioned
[Trisquel-users] ThinkPad W510 Wifi - Whitelist, Replacement Cards..
Hey there, i am planing to switch to trisquel because i want to support free software and have a possibly nsa-free system. I tried trisquel a couple of minutes ago and sadly my wifi doesn't work. To be honest, that's what i anticipated because it is always the same when i try to use completely free operating Systems. I think i may have to relpace my PCIE Wifi Card with something more compatible, like a: RealTek RTL8188EE Wifi Card But i have read that there is a "whitelist" in my bios which tries to keep me from replacing this wifi card. Sadly, there is no libreboot/ custom-bios at the moment to remove that nasty "defective by desgin"-piece-of-garbage.. Any suggestions? Maybe buy a USB-Wifi-Adapter like this: Realtek RTL8188cus ? Re: [Trisquel-users] What's wrong with Unity?
Installation of kde trough tasksel (Triskel) fails. I didn't tried with apt but seems to be some errors with dependencies.
Re: [Trisquel-users] What's wrong with Unity?
> I think that to have one thing you have it right or you > remove it I'd be in favor of removing it. If I understand correctly, Canonical has killed Unity and is using GNOME instead for 18.04 and onwards. I'd rather the Trisquel devs focus on Trisquel 9 and non-x86 architecture support. > and a > desktop that is not working at all (KDE). I think that KDE Plasma works in Trisquel 8. I briefly installed and used it, and though I quickly discovered that I hated it and uninstalled, I did not run into any bugs. If it's not working for you, I suggest starting a new thread and we can help troubleshoot. signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abrowser update issues
Same problem here. Abrowser hangs for about minute when showing the open/save file download dialog. Pablo

Do you have a phone? Do you use web services like Gmail, youtube, google etc? Do you have a Amazon Kindle?
[Trisquel-users] What's wrong with Unity?
Hi, i have one installation of Flidas and i gave a try to Unity but the panel is empty and many appaerance settings seems to do nothing. I saw a topic few months ago (almost one year) and this bug was about being fixed in the next version, but no new version has coming and Unity is not 100% functional. I think that to have one thing you have it right or you remove it, but still i see a desktop with errors for a long time, and a desktop that is not working at all (KDE).
