Re: [Trisquel-users] FSF adds PureOS to list of endorsed GNU/Linux distributions
I installed PureOS as a virtual machine the same day the FSF announced its endorsement. Honestly, I like it a lot. I've always been a fan of Gnome and personally can't stand the MATE desktop environment that Trisquel 8 is using. I got rid of that and switched it to Gnome right away. I took the plunge today and installed PureOS on my desktop. Everything is working great except for WiFi. We'll see how it plays out, but I have high hopes for the future (at least more hope than I do with Trisquel).
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minifree's Libreboot laptops now come with Trisquel 8.
Thanks, Leah! You da real MVP.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Where do you get your media from?
+1 for Bandcamp. Use a Google dork and search for inurl:bandcamp.com AND "some rights reserved" AND "genre here" or similar. There's also a guy who has been running a CC music radio station for several years now that I always listen to. Rynothebearded.com he interviews CC artists and posts links and licenses to every song that's broadcast.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abrowser update issues
Just updated to 65.0.1 (64-bit) and hanging on downloads seems to be fixed. However, the CAPTCHA issue is still prevalent. I can't log into sites like Bandcamp at all because of this.
Re: [Trisquel-users] The best terminal?
Another suckless user here. It's available in the Trisquel repositories under "stterm" if anyone wants to give the default build a go.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Transmission won't connect to trackers in Trisquel 8
Had the same thing happen to me. Port forwarding was still configured correctly in my router and everything. Not a single torrent would start or resume. Got tired of fiddling with it so I just switched to qBittorrent and it works fine.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Transmission won't connect to trackers in Trisquel 8
Asking the real questions. I want to know as well! I've been torrenting for years and am nowhere near those stats.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Why are we based on Ubuntu and not Debian?
There's always PureOS. Based on Debian testing and endorsed by the Free Software Foundation. Runs flawlessly on my Libreboot x200 and the software repos are nice and up to date. /me hides before the anti-Purism assassins show up.
