What method did you use to install plank? I don't see it in Trisquel repos.

I tried cairo dock and docky. Ughh, so heavy an full of useless nonsense!
Really didn't like them. I finally managed to solve the issue with plank
(which is a great dock - fast and simple, only 20 mb ram usage..great!).

Right click on desktop - create launcher. You create your launcher, assign an
icon, a path .. Then you cut and paste that launcher in a folder of your
choice (I placed each launcher in the folder of the application). Left click
hold and move the launcher (example - Musique.desktop) over the plank dock
and release the left mouse bottom - that's it: you have your launcher in
plank!

cheers!

The most light weight dock I have ever used is certainly the one that comes
with Xfce. It is actually a custom panel. Another is the Gnome Shell
Favorites launcher modified to a bottom dock using an extension Simple Dock.

I thought it was simply called Plank (but was brought to us by the same
people who did Docky)?

I installed the plank docky and I like it very much. It's lightweight, simple
and nice. The problem is I can't find a way to keep in the dock custom
launchers - example - I'd like to place the launcher for musique or for
Popcorn-Time in the docky, so I open musique and right click on the icon on
the dock but there is no keep in dock option. Then I went to
/home/.config/plank/launchers and created the .dockitem files for the
applications I'd like to add and see that there are new launchers in the dock
but it doesn't work. I also created the .desktop files in the
/home/.local/share/applications folder.

Has anyone tried this docky? If so, do you know of a workaround? I asked on
their IRC channel a couple of times but there were like 5 people there and
total silence, no response at all..

p.s - what is the most lightweight dock that you've ever used?
