What is the point of distributing an unmodified software after changing its
name? You would only lose the fame associated with the software, i.e., people
will not recognize it, hence not use it. The problem normally is the
opposite: people using a name with a certain fame to make the customers
believe the counterfeited product is the "real" thing. That is the issue
trademarks address.

Anyway, as a purely theoretical question (I do not believe there are
developers who want their free software to not be recognizable after
redistribution), I believe the work would remain free software: the user can
still enjoys the four freedoms. Renaming the application is not a significant
constraint.

But maybe you mean changing the name of the software for something that makes
users believe it comes from the redistributor. Like a "Microsoft Emacs" that
would just be "GNU Emacs". The copyright law prevents that: you cannot deny
the "paternity" of the work.

Oh! Then, "there are developers who want their free software to not be
recognizable after redistribution"! :-)

But, yes, I believe this clause does not make the license non-free.

That said I am not a lawyer and I have not read the rest of the license.

Even not enabling the restricted and the multiverse repositories, there are
many Ubuntu packages that will be available from the package manager and yet
violate the free software guidelines. Here is a list that dates back to
Ubuntu 10.04 (there probably are new one):
