[Trisquel-users] firefox 18
please update trisquel repos to firefox 18
Re: [Trisquel-users] firefox 18
There is no firefox in the Trisquel's repos because firefox suggest's some non-free add-ons to the user. There might be some other small freedom issues too if I recall but I'm not sure. Anyway, we have abrowser (which is basically firefox with the freedom issues solved). It would be nice if we could have the latest version of some really important applications like abrowser in the repos.
Re: [Trisquel-users] firefox 18
I'd probably complain to the bank. Chance are they don't have any control over it... but it can't hurt. The software is likely written by a company that is then deployed by various banks. Firefox 10 is supported on at least some operating systems. There is no technical / security justification for telling users there browser is no longer supported or banning them from using these browsers.
Re: [Trisquel-users] firefox 18
It probably would and is a better solution from a free software perspective than installing Firefox. I think for most people I'd suggest just sticking with abrowser and modifying the string. There is even a plug-in to do this too.
