Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
Also, LibreJS complains about some issues in the home page of DuckDuckGo. I think I'll email them as suggested by LibreJS :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
Just disable JavaScript. DDG doesn't require any of the JavaScript it serves; it's all unnecessary decorative functionality. This is also generally the case for most other websites.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
Yes, no problems when Javascript is disabled. However IceCat uses Javascript version of DDG via its search toolbar by default. DDG says that it's a privacy-oriented search engine but if user uses it with Javascript and without ad/script blockers so whether is concern about user privacy in this case?

Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
You can add the "HTML" version easily. When you do a search, you know how it makes you follow a link? Click on that, and from there, you should be able to add the search method that doesn't have that extra click.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
I just visit addons.mozilla.org and add "duckduckgo HTML" as a search engine.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
Searx.me is better in my humble opinion. also, it is free software completely.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
searx is da best.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
I didn't like it unfortunately.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
Okay, but is there a reason for that? Just curious...
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
i find it slow and clunky and that it is hard to get good results. you can set duckduckgo but the results are still bad.
Re: [Trisquel-users] DuckDuckGo and yahoo.net
Is it slow and clunky? the only thing I don't like is when you type in search bar for searx it takes two tries for it to go through sometimes. Other than that though it seems like a good search engine. Although, maybe as time passes it will get better. 10.0 version of searx is out. maybe the more versions that come out the better it will get. Duckduckgo gives out your operating system on their headers though just so you know. which I am sure is a minor issue but I prefer to go as close to perfect with security as possible.
