I am trying to get my DVR auto-recordings organized for the new season. I got this list from a poll on tvbtn, which I think is all new shows premiering on US Fall broadcast TV. Any nominations for the 5 best of these? I would also be interested in any new cable or UK shows available on PBS or BBCA not included in the list. My preliminary list is: Hostages, Blacklist, MJFox, Agents of Shield and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (though Tuesday is quickly looking like a tough night for 2-tuner DVRs, especially once MLB playoffs and NBA season start). [TV orNotTV] Ken Jennings offered "Million-Second" spot...
Ratings for the MSQ Finale: 1.3 in the demo, 4.95M total viewers. This was good for third place among broadcast programs (behind X-Factor and a Big Bang rerun), and no doubt behind the NFL game, and maybe also behind Project Runway?). That is up from 1.1 the previous Thursday (about an 18% increase), so some did come back to see who would win, but must still qualify as a disappointment, though these ratings are probably better than whatever NBC had on at the same time last year. I took the whole ride, but never did fall in love. I might be interested to see how they would tweek it if they were to do it again. It is not so much that the structure is too complicated, as that it is not very compelling. And the difficulty level of the questions seemed to me to be easy enough that luck, rather than knowledge would be the final determiner. I think this turned out to be true in the actual final match, but I give them credit for apparently identifying the two strongest players in the Finale. Adam Klugman, one of Jack Klugman's sons, is irritated that the Academy has decided to bump his dad from the new highlighted memorial in the broadcast, in favor of Corey Monteith.
