Not to mention that Sirius XM is using Teh Blaze for the hourly newscasts on the right-wing talk Patriot channel, replacing those Commies at AP Radio. SXM's other proprietary talk channels, including (surprisingly) SXM Public Radio, continue to use AP Radio News for the hourly newscasts. (I thought myself that being unable to use the NPR hourly newscasts, the Public Radio channel would use BBC World Service, but I guess that's only for The World--and I guess that they can delay AP one minute and still air the hour openings for the shows that have hour openings ending with but first, this hour's news. BBC WS newscasts now start at :01 purely to accommodate U.S. public radio stations that aren't NPR members or want to use BBC instead of NPR for hourly news.) I expect that SXMPR can't use the NPR updates because the dedicated NPR Now channel is using them, and the BBC World channel would be running the BBC updates, so that really doesn't leave a lot of non-commercial, non-network options - making AP the best fit.
