What would help me now?

Can anyone confirm indexed_search working on a fresh install of 6.2.0? It would
help me a lot to know, because in this case I have to look for an error in my
configuration.

Talking to myself - I've got no answers, except 2 private emails with a message similar
to Don't bother with 6.2.0 - you'll lose all of your hair

Well, I'm already past that point, and, to be honest, I didn't have any serious
problems with community extensions. My only personal blocker is core stuff:
Indexd Search. IS issues on Forge just keep untouched, since all people knowing
more seem to use 4.5 with Solr. This might work for them, but it will kill the
whole product in the end.

It seems that nobody except me is early-adopting 6.2.0 in a production-like
environment - and we are only weeks away from the (already postponed) release.
Without early adopters we will get what we deserve. A non working time bomb -
with unit tests showing green. Getting tired to burn my time any further. For
the first time in 6 years I checked recent Drupal specs, since I can't afford
to use a CMS which is incapable of searching.

2014-02-12 Thread Thomas Skierlo

Hi Oliver,

I asked for 6.2 compatibillity on the Solr List on Wed, 22 January, received
good answers, tried it, failed (which is no problem at all) and got another
answer from you on the very next day explaining why I should wait for an
upgrade for 6.2. This was perfectly ok for me since I learned that the
community version is not ready yet.

Situation with IS is different. Can't sell a fully fledged Java application
server just for searching purposes to a small business with a 10 pages website.
IS did it for me since 4.2. Never liked it too much, but it did it's job. I was
used to Zend Search Lucene earlier, and I'm sure I'd love to evaluate Solr once
it is available for 6.2.

Regards,

Thomas

Meanwhile I've tried Solr as an alternative, but the public version
seems not to be suitable for 6.2

GIT Version of EXT:solr works with TYPO3 CMS 6.2 beta 4 at least.
