Re: [U2] Pick on Mac
Will, MacWise by Carnation Software does a very nice job of terminal emulation (including Wyse 50 and Wyse 60) and even has some compatibility with AccuTerm in the area of file transfers. Additionally, it has an FTP client although I have not tried it out yet. -Craig McDonald -Original Message- From: Jeff Schasny [mailto:jscha...@gmail.com] Sent: Monday, March 29, 2010 12:51 PM To: U2 Users List Subject: Re: [U2] Pick on Mac The Mac "Terminal" application in OSX works just fine as a VT100 terminal emulator. RE: [U2] blank lines in code / mixed case
It was around 1973 when I took typing in Jr. High School without complaint. The nicest and best looking teacher (single) in the school was the typing teacher and I was able to take my shop class the next semester. I'm very grateful for having taken the opportunity to take typing back then. It's hard to quantify the benefits I have already reaped! RE: [U2] Excel downloads
Also, believe it or not, this works with HTML as well - even the formulas. This gives one great flexibility as one can do shading, font manipulations, borders, column-widths, etc. What I did is create a subroutine CSV.TO.HTML with options for titles, sub-titles, headings and footings. For the titles and subtitles it merges and centers cells using "col-span"... This also works with CSV structured files, which EXCEL will load and convert on the fly. Create a virtual/correlative field which will simply output the formula as text and add it to the CSV file e.g. "=SUM(An)". RE: [U2] IBM - Windows Vista Support with U2 products [not-secure]
After many years of Windows (since 3.0) I decided to change to Macs and haven't looked back. Vista totally trashed my PC and I immediately lost all confidence that there would be any comprehensive changes to Windows, mainly the elimination of the Windows registry. -Craig McDonald -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Hennessey, Mark F. RE: [U2] Open Excel and Import a file or execute a command from a localPC
Another good way to do this is to use the xls file extension for your csv file. Use the Windows start command to launch the file. Excel will recognize it as CSV and load it. You don't need the path to Excel. You can even embed formulas into the csv file, for example: =sum(a2:a30) To open the spreadsheet (really a CSV or Tab-Delimited file, etc): PRINT ESC:STX:'>start "" /D ' : "f:\ f:\ralph.xls":CR The start command works differently in Windows 9x (start /m "f:\ralph.xls"). Also, you can launch URL's into the default web browser this way, or just about anything as long as there is a valid file association for the given file extension. If that's the case I'm surprised it runs from Run/cmd. Try replacing your Excel line with this: PRINT ESC:STX:">Excel f:\ralph.csv > f:\ralph.txt":CR Then check ralph.txt for an error message which may be this: "'excel' is not recognized as an internal or external command..." So try this: MYPATH="C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11" Or whatever the real path is to your Excel.exe. Then: PRINT ESC:STX:'>"':MYPATH:'Excel" f:\ralph.csv':CR Add the "> ralph.txt" part back in if that doesn't work.
