it works excellent on centos 3.4, suse 10.0, debian sarge, knoppix live too.
centos 3.4 is the exact same distro as redhat 3 rhel, only diff. is the missing
hat
in the availability matrix they state which version of libc is the minimum to
use, and as long as
you don't use an older version you are home free, but you may have to fiddle
with the installation
script (uv.load), as it is very old and very odd, not all of the commands is
named that way today so you may have
to install additional tools or make some symbolic links to make your commands
look like something else :-)
I would clearly recommend that you get a copy of centos (www.centos.org)
that way you can experiment with UVPE on a real system, which is absolutely
ready fro production use

I've downloaded the evaluation version of Universe for
RedHat Linux. It seems to be destined for RedHat
version 7.1. Does this mean that it will not work
with more recent versions such as 8.0 or 9.0 ?
If it will work, I'd rather have a newer RedHat than
an older version.
