Re: [Ubnt_users] EdgeRouter Pro

2017-01-31 Thread Brett A Mansfield
I never use the wizard anymore. I just set it up in the GUI. Set your IP
address or DHCP on your WAN port, then configure your gateway, DNS, and any
other needed settings on the System tab at the bottom where the alerts tab is.

Let me know if you need any help. I use only Ubiquiti Routers in my environment
and know them very well.

Thank you,
Brett A Mansfield

[Ubnt_users] EdgeRouter Pro

2017-01-31 Thread Shawn Burgei
Just spent 3 hours configuring my new EdgeRouter Pro and FORGOT to run the
setup wizard. Is there a way to setup the Internet Connection settings
manually? Or do I have to run the wizard?

Thanks!

Re: [Ubnt_users] replacing rocket w/sector antenna AP

2017-01-31 Thread James Wilson
This is the single most important feature my WISP could use right now.

Many of our backhauls and CPEs can see at least two APs. Doing OSPF and
two radios with most of our CPEs is impractical. And many of our backhauls
are at solar powered sites that cannot support more radios.

I can't tell you the number of times that we could have avoided major
problems if this feature had been in place.

I'll be happy to work with on this!

Re: [Ubnt_users] replacing rocket w/sector antenna AP

2017-01-31 Thread Steve Barnes
They may monitor the list but Multiple SSID is not something they even hear the
need for when you talk to them in person. I personally have asked the staff
for this feature on and off for 6 years. Even watch Matt Hardy write it down
with an explanation as to how it could be helpful. He either lost the paper or
he threw it away when he left UBNT.

Not in my book. We use frequency scan list to prevent any undesired connection
to the wrong AP.
Now dual SSID would be of great advantage.
The one thing I miss that the ole Alvarion equipment had.
You think UBNT is monitoring this list?

Is there ever any advantage to using the "Lock to AP MAC" feature?
