Re: [Ubuntu] New packages in Testing (Xenial)
Hi, Just to let you know that I've just done the following steps and found no problems. This is a brand new VM with *Lubuntu* Xenial. 1. added ubuntugis ppa 2. installed postgresql (9.5) 3. installed postgis (2.2) 4. installed pgadmin3 5. created a database 6. create extension postgis; 7. run postgis_legacy.sql 2016-05-10 14:53 GMT+01:00 Randal Hale: > It's nice to have - it just makes the users a bit excited when a new > version comes out. Packaging for QGIS 2.14.2 is available in the Debian GIS git repository, and includes a change to disable the new version check. https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-grass/qgis.git/commit/?id=8f2b5e3a924f75aa69b6fcc335282d1403fb45d8 This change has not been forwarded for inclusion in the upstream QGIS packaging, because I expect them not to want that change. The transition to GDAL 2.1.0 in Debian is starting today, so it will be included in Ubuntu yaketty soon too along with QGIS 2.14.2 which will be uploaded as part of the transition in Debian. Re: [Ubuntu] new packages
Guys, For your information, the ubuntugis-testing PPA has ubuntugis-unstable as a dependencies. I've always used the testing ppa to put custom version of a softwares. So a user have to add both repositories to get everything working. Since there is not many packages in testing... I think someone can easily setup the testing ppa, install the new software... and remove/downgrade the packages if they want. Would be cool if someone could document this in the wiki. Let me know if you need any permissions. Thanks, Alan On 13-01-09 06:35 PM, Alex Mandel wrote: Yes mixing repos could lead to some issues.
