ubuntu on low memory ram systems
Hi, Could maybe a script or function be added to the ubuntu live cd which would give a low ram with orca install option and make a swap partition? and yet optionally allow a dual boot system if one wanted to? email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: jkenn337 msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
ubuntu with low ram
Hi, I found the following website interesting. but I have one or two questions. 1. Could a live cd of ubuntu be created specifically designed for low ram? like we could have a ubuntu lowram disc and a regular ubuntu disc? 2. Can this install be performed with orca running and ESpeak as the synthesizer? 3. will abiword and the lite spreadsheet numcrunch I think it's called work with oca? popularity of linux accessibility
Hi, Would RedHat be a good option for people running on low ram like machines with 64mb or 128mb of ram? or would ubuntu work on these systems? Also will ESpeak work in RedHat? and does RedHat support web browsers, wifi, and other such technologies? email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: jkenn337 msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility

I don't know. I know several people in the accessibility community use Red Hat or Fedora, but I couldn't say whether Ubuntu is any more popular than red hat for accessibility. - -- Luke Yelavich GPG key: 0xD06320CE (http://www.themuso.com/themuso-gpg-key.txt) Email & MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHqnfRjVefwtBjIM4RAsiUAJ4j9ftGyU7uopiwL9xIoSTs3P04OQCgt3kz 17S4jmly5MhrJvKy4N8KN2I= =bI67 -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility

It is possible to put the live CD onto a USB stick. The instructions to do so are either on the Orca wiki, or the Ubuntu wiki. I can't exactly remember which one at the moment. If nobody responds, I'll dig them up and post the link.ilman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility - -- Luke Yelavich GPG key: 0xD06320CE (http://www.themuso.com/themuso-gpg-key.txt) Email & MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHqnGdjVefwtBjIM4RAmJsAKCM4jHktT4YRVe2Nm5VUwjUMI57LQCguPQI ja+cvEUpRAdLWDOPPuLBquM= =+ggR -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
ubuntu on a u3 USB stick?
Hi, It would be cool if say we did not want to use the live cd, it would be cool if there were a version of ubuntu that could be run in live mode and be installed if you wanted to, from a USB stick.
