The later one, 8.04.1 is a testing CD image, which will eventually be the final 8.04.1, come July. If you want to test this CD, go ahead, but expect that things could break, and if they do, you get to keep both pieces. a question about the live cd
Hi, I see there is a hardy live CD dated may 9 called 8.04.1. What is the difference between this one and the CD I downloaded two days after the final release came out? Also will this be the last hardy live cd? Thanks Mike. -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
Re: qspeech-dispatcher
Hey there Mike, although Kenny is correct in saying that you don't necessarily need speech-dispatcher for playing multiple streams, the reason you're not seeing sd in the choice of speech systems is because speech-dispatcher is no longer started as a system-wide service in Hardy. Easiest way to get it to start automaticly is to go to system>preferences>sessions and add speech-dispatcher as a startup programs. Once you reboot after making this change, you should see it as an available option. I hope that helps. Later, Guy At 12:25 PM 5/11/2008, Kenny Hitt wrote: >Hi. Text to speech italian
Hi I need to use GOOD voices (such as sapi5) in UBUNTU. Is there any ITALIAN and ENGLISH voice I can use? Which software can I use in Linux similar to DSpeech or Textaloud? Thanks a lot Angelo -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility

qspeech-dispatcher
Hi, I installed the python-speechd package in hardy, but still do not see speech-dispatcher in the orca choices. I must have missed something here. Is there something else I have to do to get speech-dispatcher to work, or is it not working in hardy. The only reason I need it is so I can use orca while playing music.
