no sound after jaunty upgrade
Hi all, I did the upgrade to Jaunty last night, especially since it had been working flawlessly on my laptop. I am having a problem though, I have no sound. I asked a sighted person to look at my screen, and she let me know that every time I reboot, master volume is muted. Even if she unmutes it, there is no sound. I do have the .pulse_a11y_nostart file in my home directory. If anyone has any suggestions in solving this, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks much in advance, Guy -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
Re: no sound after jaunty upgrade
Hi Guy, it looks like the same trouble I had before when I upgradeed to 9.04. With the help of Jose it is now solved. I had to do a fresh instllation and first to enable accessibilty by pressing F5 and after 3, downarrowing once en pressing ENTER to start the installation. After the installation I did in a terminal: touch .pulse_a11y_nostart and Orca speaks well. - Original Message - From: Guy Schlosser guys...@bex.net To: ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com Sent: Saturday, May 09, 2009 2:14 PM Subject: no sound after jaunty upgrade Hi all, I did the upgrade to Jaunty last night, especially since it had been working flawlessly on my laptop. Re: jaunty and voxin
Hi all, Only to inform that my problem related to voxin and jaunty described in this message, was solved after I remove pulseaudio. sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio To confirm I reinstalled jaunty, reinstalled voxin 022, removed pulseaudio and all is working well here. I need to say also that I'm running on jaunty x86-64 distribution. Yes, it is possible run voxin 022 under a x86_64 distribution. I can write about if someone is interested. Thanks. After some investigation I came across with a partial solution, not so good because I can not hear multiple sounds at the same time. My solution was to remove the use of aoss in the /usr/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Speech_SynthesisDriver_Viavoice.server. I tried to use cepstral with aoss and found the same problem. Any help will be appreciate. Thanks. -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
