Dear users, I would liketo inform You, that You can run Ubuntu live CD, Uuntu11.10 with Orca support. You must download one ofThe daily buids from here http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ You can burn it to A CD or You can alternatively use The Universal USB installer for Windows with ammazingly accessible GUI downloadable from here. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/Universal-USB-Installer/Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.6.4.exe You must run The .exe program and accept The licence conditions Select The choice Try The unlisted Linux (new syslinux). To simply activate this choice, press The end key in The supported distributions list. Choose The free USB flashdrive letter, check The format button if necessary and activate The next button. Confirm The dialog box, that You want to install to this drive and patiently wait. When installation will be finished, You will The USB boot live flash drive and You will have The chance to use boot menu like booting from The CD. So press Enter key twice, press F5 and press three number, not on The numeric keypad but on The uppest keyboard row. Press Enter may be once or twice and wait patiently. After Ubuntu login welcome sound, You will hear The welcome to Orca message. Wanring! You will have access only to The icons on The desktop, i can not determine how to access The applications list menu, but it will be probably ready later. Also ALT+F2 dialog is now inaccessible, but may be, that BETA2 release will support it better or RC release. Hy Frederik, Thank you your answer. If need help the testing with new QT development version after 4.8.0 release, I welcome try testing development version if a PPA awailable the development version. Future need reporting you the bugs for QT accessibility bridge related, or have a bug tracker this bridge? So does administrative applications work for You atleast from live CD? I will install 11.04 too The official release to determine, if there is some issue related to running administration tasks after installation. What happened with Orca in Oneiric
Hy, Yesterday early afternoon I installed all updates my testing Oneiric system from archive.ubuntu.com with sudo apt-get dist-upgrade command. After upgrade installation when I try launch Orca with orca --replace command, I see following error in terminal: root@hammera-laptop:/# orca --replace /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gobject/constants.py:24: Warning: g_boxed_type_register_static: assertion `g_type_from_name (name) == 0' failed import gobject._gobject /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py:40: Warning: specified class size for type `PyGtkGenericCellRenderer' is smaller than the parent type's `GtkCellRenderer' class size from gtk import _gtk /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py:40: Warning: g_type_get_qdata: assertion `node != NULL' failed from gtk import _gtk Segmentation fault root@hammera-laptop:/# Anybody experienced similar problem? Unfortunately I unable to send this problem with apport or apport-cli application, because no pending crash reports. Current daily live CD chroot filesystem is producing similar issues.
