[Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1623887] [NEW] Button to move call to a different speaker doesn't work any more
Public bug reported: Today I was in my car when a call came in. Because I need Bluetooth for various other things, also my car connected to it. As Bluetooth HandsFree is currently badly broken and can't be used at all, I keep on using the button in the dialer app to move the call to the internal speaker whenever this situation occurrs. Today however, I realized that this button doesn't work any more either. Upon pressing it, it just does nothing, not even a haptics feedback. Some of the music files don't have embedded cover art and their folders contain those cover art images. When I then opened the Gallery app, I noticed I now have thousands of "pictures" imported from the cover art images showing up in my Events and Pictures tabs, cluttering the real pictures I've taken with the camera. Is there a way to tell either mediascanner or the Gallery app to ignore a path and not import/show the images there? E.g. similar to Android, where you can put a .nomedia file in a folder and its images won't show up in the picture viewer. [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1469879] Re: Gallery app should not show music album art fetched by mediascanner
I copied some music to my phone again and again the gallery becomes unusable It holds an entry with album-art per song. That means, after copying some 10 albums to the phone, the pictures I've taken with the camera etc are now mixed in between 200 music artwork images... This is quite annoying and for instance my wife rejects to use the phone as music player because of this. ** Attachment added: "album-artwork.mov" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gallery-app/+bug/1469879/+attachment/4725603/+files/album-artwork.mov ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mediascanner (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to gallery-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1469879 Title: Gallery app should not show music album art fetched by mediascanner Status in Canonical System Image: New Status in gallery-app package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in mediascanner package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When having some music files on the phone, mediascanner will download artwork for them. [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1606570] [NEW] accidental downwards-drag causes input to be rejected
Public bug reported: On devices with larger screens it frequently happens to me that when I type with the OSK, I drag the OSK down by a few pixels. When I release it, it snaps back up so it doesn't hide, but it still lost that character that I intended to press. There's two possible solutions: * increase the threshold until it starts moving down (and with that rejects input) * Make it still accept the input despite being moved down a little. Only reject the input when it's dragged down far enough to actually dismiss. I'm not sure which solution is best yet, I guess I could do with either of them. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to ubuntu-keyboard in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1606570 Title: accidental downwards-drag causes input to be rejected Status in Canonical System Image: New Status in ubuntu-keyboard package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On devices with larger screens it frequently happens to me that when I type with the OSK, I drag the OSK down by a few pixels. [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1595230] [NEW] Keyboard height reporting not working in windowed mode
Public bug reported: Currently the OSK height reporting (Qt.inputMethodRect.height) can either report its full height (as it does in staged mode) or not do any height reporting at all (as done in windowed mode currently). The problem with full height reporting in Windowed mode is that the OSK does not necessarily cover the app with its full height if the app is not touching the bottom edge, so the app would move contents upwards too much. As a quick fix we have disabled height reporting completely for windowed mode. The problem with that is that applications don't move the content any more at all which might make the OSK cover the input field. We need to add support for partial OSK height reporting. In that case, unity8 would provide information to the OSK how much it covers a particular app window so that the OSK can report that to the app. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to ubuntu-keyboard in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1595230 Title: Keyboard height reporting not working in windowed mode Status in Canonical System Image: New Status in ubuntu-keyboard package in Ubuntu: New Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Currently the OSK height reporting (Qt.inputMethodRect.height) can either report its full height (as it does in staged mode) or not do any height reporting at all (as done in windowed mode currently). [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1594333] [NEW] layout messed up for vip.de
Public bug reported: I'm not 100% sure if this is an issue in our browser but after a chat on IRC we decided to log a bug and investigate at least: Go to vip.de and open a random article. You'll find a box for an embedded video. That box doesn't show a video (perhaps something we could support?) but instead just displays a text saying that video playback is not supported on this browser/platform. That's one issue, but leaving that aside, the much bigger issue is that this box is actually bigger than it should be (or the container around it smaller than it should be) and it happens that this box is covering parts of the article's text. This causes the browser to even be of no use for just reading the text on this page. ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594333 Title: layout messed up for vip.de Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I'm not 100% sure if this is an issue in our browser but after a chat on IRC we decided to log a bug and investigate at least: Go to vip.de and open a random article. [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1589090] [NEW] opening a popup/tab should directly focus it
Public bug reported: configuring a wifi router with the Ubuntu browser, I thought the website or browser would not work because clicking links would not do anything. Took me quite a while to find out that clicking that link actually opened popups in new tabs, but because new tabs are not focused by default, and also hidden in the bottom edge when the window is smallish, I opened like 20 popups before even realizing what's going on. => when a website opens a new tab or popup (which effectively ends up as a tab in this browser) as response to a user interaction (I actively clicked a link to open it, it wasn't just spam) it should be automatically focused, or, at the very least some clear indication that there has been a new tab opened. ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589090 Title: opening a popup/tab should directly focus it Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: configuring a wifi router with the Ubuntu browser, I thought the website or browser would not work because clicking links would not do anything. [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1589089] [NEW] Impossible to use webbrowser for anything that uses a popup
Public bug reported: today I wanted to configure a WiFi router with the Ubuntu browser. Turns out that's not possible because the router's webinterface uses popups to ask the user for selecting something. The popups are opened as new tabs. When I switch to them, and then click on the selection the popup closes again and I end up on the original page, however, the page reloads and all the previous state is lost. => The webbrowser should not reload the page when switching to a tab. (I presume the reason is that it actually unloads the page as soon as one switches away in order to save some memory, but still this is too intrusive. It will break too much and needs to be turned off again - It kinda makes the webbrowser useless as it is right now.) ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589089 Title: Impossible to use webbrowser for anything that uses a popup Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: today I wanted to configure a WiFi router with the Ubuntu browser. They appear only once in the messages app, but the other end receives them multiple times (up to 5 times I believe). In the example of the attached screenshots, the sender never received the confirmation that it actually succeeded, the receiver however received the message multiple times. Also the operator will charge for each sent instance. I have seen other cases where eventually the confirmation comes through after, say, 3 attempts and it stops retrying. I'm not really sure about what to do if the confirmation doesn't come through the network, but as I've never seen this issue with other phones, I think it must be something like the retries being sent with a different ID, so the operator cannot match the message to previous attempts? Or perhaps the timeout for waiting for the reply is just too short? [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1464390] [NEW] Feature request: allow invoking a websearch using the configured search engine
Public bug reported: Some apps may want to trigger a web search in the browser. Right now there is the possibility to do something like Qt.openUrlExternally(https://google.com?q=foobar;) However, the search engine might be blocked in some countries or not be the user's favourite one. It would be great if we could do something like: Qt.openUrlExternally(websearch://foobar) I haven't fully thought the websearch:// scheme through yet, so probably this requires a case study on the used uri scheme and/or query arguments. Maybe there's some standard uri scheme for this? [Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1296673] [NEW] Some popups should not have a address bar
Public bug reported: I've been setting up a captive WIFI hotspot portal and obviously used the Ubuntu phone to test things. Everything works as expected with one minor exception: When the browser tries to get the first website after connection to that hotspot, it is redirected to a website that opens a new popup with the login form. Once logged in, that window needs to stay open and offers pssibilities to track the connection duration and log out from the hotspot. Usually on desktops, such popups don't have an address bar while on the ubuntu phone it does. Also it doesn't open a new popup, but opens the login form inside this browser window. This kinda guides the user to reuse the browser window after logging in which causes the hotspot connection to time out. Ideally, the browser would open the login window in a new window (maybe tab?) with disabled address bar and upon login, allow the original window to be redirected again to the original url the user tried to open. ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1296673 Title: Some popups should not have a address bar Status in “webbrowser-app” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I've been setting up a captive WIFI hotspot portal and obviously used the Ubuntu phone to test things.
