When adding a new contact or editing an existing contact, when
pressing the "+" button (to add a new phone/email/im, etc), the focus
should be shifted to the new field and it should scroll visible into
view. This is not working properly.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1) create a new contact
  2) enter a mobile phone number
  3) press the "+" key to enter a second phone number

  Expected Results:
  - focus and cursor should shift to newly added field
  - the newly added field should scroll into view

  Actual results:

not scroll into view

Bug description:
  address-book-app 0.2+13.10.20130826-0ubuntu1

When editing/creating a new contact, we correctly show the cancel/save
panel above the keyboard. The problem is that you can mistakenly get
the original toolbar (with back button) to appear on top of the
cancel/save panel. This happens if you miss pressing the cancel button
or start to swipe the keyboard down and then release it. The back
toolbar should never appear if you are in edit/save mode.

  Steps to reproduce:

  1) edit a contact
  2) press just below the cancel/save button but above the keyboard
  or
  2) swipe the keyboard down a little and then release it

  Expected results:
  - always have Cancel/Save panel visible and on top until you actually cancel
or save

  Actual results:
  - the wrong toolbar is shown on top of the cancel/save

When select is pressed it shows options to Cancel and Delete but nothing has
been selected.
It seems that long press or trying to scroll with the toolbar up also goes
into this mode.
Delete via popup also seems redundant with swipe to delete which is much
easier.

Suggest hiding this option for now if its not ready.

Can still see toolbar while trying to dismiss OSK. Does this need to be fixed
further?

  Desired solution:
  - Use the Sheet component from the SDK
  - The toolbar would be disabled in the Sheet state (but this should happening
automatically if Sheet component is used)

  ==
Per spec, the toolbar should be visible always.
  1) as soon as you enter edit mode display Cancel/Done buttons
  2) when OSK is visible the toolbar needs to move above the OSK so it's
visible (the current phone-app does this correctly)

  --
  ux commnet:
The edit mode should use Sheet from the SDK component (currently the buttons
are on top, rather than bottom, but is being currently looked at)

  log

Status in Address Book App:
  Fix Released
Status in “address-book-app” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
If I add a contact into the address book and then make a call from
that contact, the call will be successfully made but afterwards, when
I check the call log, the event is recorded as "unknown".

  TEST CASE
  1. Launch the address book app (Contacts) and enter a contact with a phone
number
  2. Using the contact you've just entered, make a phone call
  3. After your phone call is complete look in your call log
 - you should see an entry that lists the name of the contact you entered
earlier

At the moment, instead of seeing the name of your contact who you've
just called, you will see 'Unknown'.

letters are visible on screen

  Actual result:
Fast scroll index moves up, overlaying the header. The invoked search field

  Expected result:
When SEARCh is invoked, fast scroll should disappear from view and the search

Bug description:
Currently when you open the address book, dialer app, clock app etc,
the bottom edge hint is visible and shows what the action is. This
hint is hidden after a few seconds. This makes it difficult for the
user to understand what the bottom edge does if he didn't read the
  bottom edge text in time.

In the clock app design at

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Kkl7xT8BYo9mT8i3IXh6rPrDlNg6cBxTajahlRYIGlI/edit#slide=id.g18587dd40_029
(Slide 4), the bottom edge text is supposed to show the time to the
next alarm. By hiding this hint, it renders that text useless since it
  is hidden.

  -- Solution --
  - Hint tab is always displayed by default
  - When interacting with the content on screen it collapses (e.g. dialler -
typing numbers, address book, clock - scrolling)
  - When user stops interacting, it reappears after 5 seconds

translate the UI into Simplified Chinese. For that, we'd need the

  To do this:

  1. Please ensure that all visible user messages are marked for translation
(i.e. enclosed in the i18n.tr() function)
  2. Run the rule to update the po/$APP.pot file
  3. Commit and push the .pot file

Bug description:
Currently when you open the address book, dialer app, clock app etc,
the bottom edge hint is visible and shows what the action is. This
hint is hidden after a few seconds. This makes it difficult for the
user to understand what the bottom edge does if he didn't read the
  bottom edge text in time.

In the clock app design at

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Kkl7xT8BYo9mT8i3IXh6rPrDlNg6cBxTajahlRYIGlI/edit#slide=id.g18587dd40_029
(Slide 4), the bottom edge text is supposed to show the time to the
next alarm. By hiding this hint, it renders that text useless since it
  is hidden.

  -- Solution --
  - Hint tab is always displayed by default
  - When interacting with the content on screen it collapses (e.g. dialler -
typing numbers, address book, clock - scrolling)
  - When user stops interacting, it reappears after 5 seconds

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Phone app, make sure you have missed/made/received calls
  2. Carry out a bottom edge swipe in the main view to access your recent calls
  3. Swipe slowly on any available list item towards the left
  4. Current implementation: The slow swipe reveals additional action beneath
the list item on a step by step basis. Currently they are highlighted in
purple. A longer swipe towards the left reveals all actions for selection.

--

Desired solution: Remove progressive swipe and reveal all actions in one go.
This will be the same behaviour as currently implemented on the swipe towards
the right, which reveals DELETE.
Put the INFO icon first and the Messaging icon into the middle of available
actions.

This applies as well for the messaging app, in the message thread.

Bug description:
  There are several problems:

Search currently requires the user to enter a "space" or "-" character
to find matching numbers the the contacts and messaging apps.

Also depending on how the number is entered the formatting is different for
example:
19995551212 is stored and displayed as "1 999-555-1212"
  whereas
  9995551212 is displayed as "(999) 555-1212"

There is no way for me to specify a formatted number when creating a contact
so there is no real reason to store it formatted in a way we choose.
When editing a number I am presented with it formatted which is somewhat
confusing, there is no "-" character available to me.

I suggest we store the raw number only and always normalize search
strings to digits and special characters (like *#) only. The
presentation should be considered separate from the data

[Ubuntu-apps-bugs] [Bug 1416048] Re: Expected to be able to pause a video by tapping on anywhere of the video

2015-02-12 Thread Renato Araujo Oliveira Filho
There is a conflict with this behavior and the current one.

The current behavior uses the click to show and hide the controls.

This new behavior will conflict with the old one, and the user will not
have a way to show the controls.

I can change the code to show the controls if the video is paused or
stopped but then the user will need to stop the video to seek on it.
(because the controls will not be visible while playing).
