You know that new Nexenta OS project for a Debian based Solaris that was
based off Ubuntu Breezy? I have noticed that they have a pretty nice
default theme setup. I'm not pointing out the Dropline Neu icons (which
do look nice btw), but their new Window Decoration named Solar is what
gets pointed out right now. I've noticed that Brezzy's artwork kinda had
a Glass theme (like Hoary's theme was Sparkles). I think Dapper should
continue the glass look but more advanced. Using a modified version of
Solar would be a pretty nice idea (modified means that we could adjust
the buttons a little bit and make it a bit more reddish), so who's up
 for it?

I think it looks too childish to be a default theme.

Altough I like the idea of generating new media (it's being time), I

it, it definitely needs some touches.

Okay, this is what I mean by LIKE Solar, I know it kinda looks like the
SuSE 10 KDE theme but, it still looks nice. This is my mockup of
Nautilus on Dapper, Ubuntu throbber, and a touched up version of the
Human metacity theme.

[ubuntu-art] background idea

2005-11-17 Thread Ari Gronning
Sorry about the last post, my browser messed up...my first post to this mailing list...so much for first impressions, eh?

Anyways, here's the main portion of my idea for a background
image. I need to clean up the edges on the big arc, and spruce up
the background instead of having it just be white. I like some of
the curves on one of the background images, which I can't remember the
name of, or where I found it. I think on volvoguys website, which
is linked to by the artwork community web site.

Any constructive feedback is welcome!

first thing: try using the svg version of the logo. it scales much better

the fractal (??) logo idea is nice, but you should improve it a bit ...

Hello Ari!

For me too - work with the *.svg icons, which you can scale without loss
of quality! Then it's possible to have a nice great icon for the
background.

And the icon... i'm not shure, if it's too much modified. But the idea
with the icon in the icon in the icon... is nice.

Greetings from germany

Suzan
