I think something similar was done for Dapper's pre-release splash screen. Even though it had This is not the final artwork written on it, many testers got upset. I'm with Alex on this one. Testing releases often do end up on screenshot sites like OSDir and I think it wouldn't make a good impression if we included bogus artwork that isn't representative of the final quality. During Edgy we basically kept Dapper's artwork, then moved on to Troy's artwork preview and then to the final work. On top of this, and this is just a wild guess like anyone else's, I think the big idea is to have Feisty's final artwork integrated from the start on. I'm talking about at least the wallpaper and possibly the GDM theme, login splash and usplash. Again, this is just a guess as the real plan seems to be forever out of reach of reality. Re: [ubuntu-art] Temporary Feisty Artwork Idea
hi, I suggest to use Ubuntu Feisty Fawn Alpha 1 Artwork or similar. Not at big size. This is usefull when you see screenshots to know which version is shot. Re: [ubuntu-art] Automatic Artwork Builder
Hello Iacopo, I just approved you for the team. ok I saw it. Thanks. Now I'm at Unviersity, I will read the doc tomorrow. Another question: did you ever build a package from your theme? It needs to build before you submit it. I'm sorry. I have some skill packaging some apps in deb file via chechinstall or via dpkg-deb --build. It's iacopo-masi . I resolved the problem that I sent you in the seconod mail the id is with '-' not with '.' If you need anything else, let me know. Ok when I arrive home I try to do something. If I get trouble, Let's see on irc. Have a nice day, you too Thanks for all. -- Iacopo Masi web: http://www.iacopomasi.net email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

Let's face it -- until Ubuntu's design is treated with the full dedication that is required, this is a rather hopeless plot. Feisty's 'plan' thus far has not addressed this inherent weakness. Even if Feisty ends up with new 'acceptable' bits, the design implementation strategy has grown no further. Ubuntu design should strive for more than meeting the bare minimum of acceptability within current operating system trends. Forever following someone else's lead will _always_ result in no better than second place.
